Nathan Milford Operations Engineer at OutBrain.com SuperMicro, SGI, HP all have similar devices, but the thing they don t have is DCS, which is more or less independent of Dell and can be agile like a smaller vendor, but with Dell s backing and resources. They are in constant conversation with their clients to improve the C-series products and, from what I hear, are very responsive, doing things like using components that work best with a specific Linux kernel or building one-off GPU-compute nodes for high-end clients. A little later The main thing was the involvement of DCS. Since this article was posted they have had two occasions to impress me with their flexibility compared to dealing with standard Dell. In both occasions they have knocked my socks off :) The big win is being able to keep my existing Dell reps (who are great folks) and gain the resources and savvy of the DCS crew.
