1 Your Leadership Tracker The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. - Lao Tse How to achieve leadership certifications This booklet describes the three Leadership Rowan certifications and how you can achieve them. The three ways you can earn achievements that count toward certification are: 1. Swipe your card at selected campus events: Leadership Mentors will be present with card readers at many campus events that would fulfil Leadership Rowan achievements. Swipe your card and the achievement will automatically be uploaded to your ilead Tracker. 2. Reuest validation: Reuest credit for an activity where card readers were not present by selecting the reuest validation link at rowan.edu/leadership/ilead. Then provide brief information about the event and contact information for a faculty or staff member who can confirm your participation. Leadership Mentors will verify your reuest and credit the appropriate achievement within your ilead Tracker. 3. Complete a Leadership Rowan Signature Experience: Complete a Leadership Rowan workshop series (examples of which are listed throughout this booklet) and earn multiple achievements, or even an entire leadership certification, through your involvement.

2 Leadership Certificates for Each Leadership Experience Level Leadership as an Ongoing Process We have designed the three leadership certifications to follow your academic progress at Rowan University. There are many possibilities for you to choose from to complete the Core Achievements, so you will never have to do the same thing twice (though it may be so much fun you will want to!). Use the Core Achievements table to find experiences that are right for you and will help you at each of these levels: Leadership Training Provides freshmen and sophomores a foundation in leadership theories, styles & approaches, and techniues for self-management. Leadership Application & Organizational Effectiveness Gives sophomores and juniors hands-on experience in a student organization or other leadership role. Leadership Sustainability Your capstone experience helps transition your leadership roles to new leaders and enables you to utilize your leadership skills for your future. There are ten Core Achievements that are reuired for each of the three Leadership Rowan certification experiences. Fold open the center pages for a table that lists suggested campus activities and programs that can fulfil the Core Achievements at each of the leadership experience levels above.
