10 Projector Fetures 10 Connecting to Network nd Projecting Imges from the Computer's Screen You cn perform the following opertions using EsyMP Network Projection nd EsyMP Multi PC Projection found on the supplied EPSON Projector Softwre CD-ROM. Shring the projector over network By using EsyMP Network Projection, you cn connect the projector to network nd shre it with multiple computers. This llows you to project imges nd documents from ny of the computers without chnging cbles. 30 Instlling the Projector 30 Instlltion Methods The projector supports the following six different instlltion methods. Instll the projector ccording to the instlltion loction. Turn the projector off when instlling the projector or chnging the instlltion method. Turn the power bck on fter completing instlltion. Wrning A specil method of instlltion is required when suspending the projector from wll or ceiling. If it is not instlled correctly, it could fll cusing n ccident nd injury. If you use dhesives on the wll mount plte fixing points or the ceiling mount fixing points to prevent the screws from loosening, or if you use things such s lubricnts or oils on the projector, the projector cse my crck cusing it to fll from its mount. This could cuse serious injury to nyone under the mount nd could dmge the projector. When instlling or djusting the mount, do not use dhesives to prevent the screws from loosening nd do not use lubricnt or oil nd so on. Do not cover the projector's ir intke vent or ir exhust vent. If either of the vents re covered, the internl temperture could rise nd cuse fire. Do not use the projector in loction subject to combustible or explosive gs. The projector my ctch fire becuse of the high temperture of the lmp inside the projector. We recommend using smooth, bord type screen without ny unevenness. If the projection screen is uneven, there my be distortions in the projected imge. Distortions my occur in the projected imge depending on the mteril of the screen nd the instlltion method. When mounting the projector on wll or ceiling, or plcing the projector verticlly, mke sure you use the correct tools for the instlltion method. s "Optionl Accessories" p.242 The defult Projection setting is Front/Upside Down. Instll the projector so tht the Esy Interctive Function receiver is not too close to fluorescent lights. If the surrounding re is too bright, the interctive fetures my not operte correctly. If there is ny dust stuck to the Esy Interctive Function receiver, it could interfere with infrred communiction nd you my not be ble to use the fetures normlly. Clen the receiver if it is dirty. s "Clening" p.230 Do not put pint or ny stickers on the cover of the Esy Interctive Function receiver. When using the interctive fetures, do not use n infrred remote control or microphone in the sme room. The interctive pen could mlfunction. Do not use devices tht generte powerful noise, such s rotry devices or trnsformers, ner the projector. You my not be ble to operte the interctive fetures.

32 Instlling the Projector 32 When using the interctive fetures, instll so tht the projected screen is rectngle without ny distortion. When using the interctive fetures in the sme room s multiple projectors, interctive pen opertions my become unstble. In this sitution, connect the optionl remote control cble set (ELPKC28) to the projectors, nd chnge Sync of Projectors to Wired from the Configurtion menu. s Extended - Esy Interctive Function - Advnced - Sync of Projectors p.179 Setting Up the Touch Unit (EB-1430Wi only) When using the Touch Unit, instll the projector using one of the following methods. You cn lso set the port used for udio input from the Configurtion menu. s Extended - A/V Settings - Audio Output p.179 If udio is not output when n HDMI cble is connected, connect commercilly vilble udio cble to the Audio Input port. By using commercilly vilble MHL cble, you cn connect the MHL port on your device to the HDMI1/MHL port on the projector. You cn send the udio with the projected imge. When you connect smrtphone or tblet device to the projector, the device strts chrging when imges re projected. Attention You my not be ble to connect n MHL cble to ll devices. Mke sure the connection cble supports the MHL stndrds. If you connect cble tht does not support the MHL stndrds, the smrtphone or tblet device my become hot, lek, or explode. If you connect using commercilly vilble MHL-HDMI conversion dpter, chrging the smrtphone or tblet device my not work or you my not be ble to perform opertions from the projector's remote control. If imges re not projected correctly, disconnect nd then reconnect the MHL cble. You my not be ble to project correctly depending on the model nd settings of the smrtphone or tblet device.

38 Connecting Equipment 38 Connecting Imge Sources To project imges from DVD plyers or VHS video nd so on, connect to the projector using one of the following methods. When connecting nd using USB-comptible hrd disk, mke sure you connect the AC dptor supplied with the hrd disk. Connect digitl cmer or hrd disk to the projector using USB cble supplied with or specified for use with the device. Use USB cble less thn 3 m in length. If the cble exceeds 3 m, PC Free my not function correctly. Removing USB devices After finishing projecting, remove USB devices from the projector. For devices such s digitl cmers or hrd disks, turn off the device nd then remove it from the projector.

By connecting computer to the projector over network, you cn project imges nd check the sttus of the projector. To prevent mlfunctions, use ctegory 5 shielded LAN cble.

Using Interctive Touch Opertions with Your Finger (EB-1430Wi) You cn use your finger to interct with the projected screen, just s you would use n interctive pen (EB-1430Wi). You cn use either pen or your finger, or use both t the sme time. The projector recognizes up to six touch points in computer interctive mode. When performing touch opertions with your finger, you cn use two fingers in nnottion nd whitebord modes. Do the following before using your finger for touch opertions:

If the power is turned off unexpectedly while drwing, such s when blckout occurs or the power cble is ccidentlly disconnected, the bckup function utomticlly sves drwings to the internl storge. However, dt sved to the internl storge is utomticlly deleted when the specified time hs pssed fter the power ws turned off. To restore the dt, you need to turn the power on gin before the specified time hs pssed. You cn select 10 minutes, 3 hours, or Never from Whitebord Settings s the dt bckup time. E Enter the file nme for the ttchment. F Select the formt for the ttched file (PDF, PNG, or EWF). For PDFs nd EWFs, you cn encrypt the file. Enter pssword when you wnt to encrypt the file. Attention When you enter the pssword, it is displyed on the screen. When encrypting file, mke sure you do not forget the pssword. G Set the pge tht you wnt to send. c Click Send. If there is lot of content on the projected screen, it my tke while to send the emil. You my not be ble to send the emil depending on the destintion mil server settings. This llows you to view nd drw on the whitebord screen t the sme time from other projectors or tblet devices. When shring whitebord, you need to connect the projector to the network. Shring Whitebord Screen with Other Devices You cn shre your whitebord screen with up to 15 externl devices, such s other projectors nd tblet devices, by using the projector s Web server. The content is shred to other externl devices where it cn be viewed nd sved. You cn lso drw on the projector's whitebord screen from the externl devices. When shring your whitebord screen, you need to open the following network ports. Port Protocol Usge Communiction 80 TCP Connect/Trnsfer two-wy 443 imges two-wy (when using SSL) c A PIN code is displyed for connecting to the projector (7-digit code). Check the PIN code. If necessry, chnge it. The communiction bndwidth for shring the whitebord screen differs depending on the mount of drwing content. Also, depending on the totl mount of drwing content, brod bndwidth is temporrily required when the connections strts. Click on the bottom toolbr. The Shred Whitebord screen is displyed. b Click Strt shring with this whitebord. d Once you set the PIN code, you cnnot chnge it until you end whitebord shring. Click Strt.
