2 Prime Minister, David Cameron National Events Month has made a significant contribution to the UK economy. The government plans to work harder with the events industry... BRITAIN FOR EVENTS 2014 AT A GLANCE Helen Grant Minister for Tourism, Sport and Equalities Britain for Events have done a tremendous job throughout National Events Month, championing the UK as a great place to host international events Britain for Events Representing... Nick De Bois, MP...National Events Month, a nationwide campaign run by Britain for Events and the wider event industry to raise awarness of the quality, scale and professionalism of this 31.9bn sector. International & Domestic Business UK Government Sajid Jarvid Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport The Government will now be working in partnership with the UK events industry to develop a joint strategy to support growth within this important sector. Live Music Live Sport Michael Hirst BVEP Chairman Its been a great success. It s focussed on the phenomenal attributes that the various sectors of the Events Industry contribute to British life and its economic well-being. Kate Hewitt Director, Venue Finder It is a fabulous opportunity to support the Britain for Events campaign, especially as the UK events industry has been estimated at 39.1 billion. Many international clients choosing London to host their events. Encourage event oragnisers across the UK to celebrate their events under the #NEMO branding Over 2k followers on Twitter Reached over 750K Consumers 3. To support government plans to grow and develop the Events Industry 4. Celebrate the UK Events Industry

4 #NEMO Conferences & Meetings Week Generates 19.9 billion a year in the UK Highlights... Conferences and Meetings Week was hosted by The Liberal Democrats Conference at the Scottish Exhibition Centre (SECC), in Glasgow. Business events accounted for 30% of UK visitor economy in 2013, with over 1.3 million Conferences and Meetings held in the UK. Conferences and Meetings week had the support of Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, who was greeted by Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC.

5 #NEMO Exhibitions & Experiential Week Generates 11.0 billion spend in the UK Highlights... Exhibition and Experiential events generated 13 million visitors in the year IP EXPO Europe hosted Exhibition and Experiential week at the ExCel, London. This week also saw fantastic support from the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) Conference. The Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, attended the STA conference, whilst showcasing his support for National Events Month.

6 #NEMO Outdoor, Cultural, Music & Sporting Week Generates a combined 5.8 billion Spend Highlights... Outdoor, Cultural, Music and Sporting week was hosted by the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) Festival Congress. #NEMO recieved fantastic support from the Minister of Finance and Local Government, Edwina Hart. The Showman s Show, situated in Berkshire, also showed its support for #NEMO this week after a brilliant turn out.

7 #NEMO Corporate Hospitality & Incentive Travel Generates a combined 2.4 billion Spend The Penultimate Week! The Ryder Cup and the NFL games were the perfect backdrop for Corporate Hospitality and Incentive Travel week. National Events Month received a great amount of support from members of government this week, including Prime Minister, David Cameron and Tourism Minister, Helen Grant. Britain for Events drew the curtains on #NEMO during Corporate Hospitality and Incentive Travel week. They celebrated this at their closing event at the Museum of London. The #NEMO Celebration event also saw the release of the Events Can WIN For Britain Manifesto, produced by the BVEP.
