Yet, in our view, they themselves are inadequately protected from the uncertainties of life which can end up impacting them and their families adversely. With an objective to provide comprehensive insurance solutions to the defence personnel since 2009, DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Company Limited has launched a life insurance program that helps servicemen meet their insurance needs. As a result of this, when they got to know that Rifleman was no more, they informed the Unit of his Life Insurance Policy (of which the Unit or his family was unaware) and took the initiative to settle his claim within two weeks. Despite the fact that the family was residing in a remote area, we processed the claim in just 15 days. But due to unavailability of the late soldier s father, we made the following payouts on December 28th, 2011: Immediate lump sum payment of ` 2,01,983/- Family Pension of `4,000/- per month for 19 years & 7 months (Total Pension Amount `9,40,000/-) Late Subedar, 388 Army Supply Corps (Supply Depot.) 10 Community ENGAGEMENTS DHFL Pramerica partners with the defence community Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) DHFL Pramerica has partnered with the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) to help provide career opportunities in the insurance industry to retired Armed Forces personnel/war widows/dependents. The Company has been empanelled with DGR to organize IRDA prescribed life insurance training workshops across the country. After the training and the IRDA examination, the participating ex-servicemen will be given an insurance license that will enable them to apply to any insurance company in India. I am a retired Subedar Major of Indian Army and have served my Country for 27 years. At the time of my retirement, I attended the DGR course conducted by the DHFL Pramerica Prahri channel. After going through 20 years of intensive training, we pensioners are now well versed with financial terminologies and have also gained a lot of knowledge on Investment Planning, Insurance, Mutual Funds, Tax Rebates. etc. I consider myself fortunate to be part of this programme.
