Once you have signed in/created an account, you will need to complete nine steps. Step 1: Personal details Ensure you have included all your personal details. It s essential that you have ticked all three of the first questions. If you are applying under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and do not possess a relevant undergraduate degree, please still tick yes to the third question. If you do want to find out more please contact Timothy Dimech at timothy.dimech@uct.ac.za Step 2: Programme of study Ensure you have ticked the question Do you have a diploma or a university degree or will you graduate by the end of If you are an RPL candidate, and do not possess a relevant undergraduate degree, please still tick yes when asked if you have a degree. To choose the UCT, you need to make the following selections: Level qualification: Postgraduate Diploma Faculty: Commerce Academic qualification: Postgraduate Diploma in Management (2 year part time blended learning) Specialisation: Marketing (This should automatically be selected by default.) Note: Choosing a second programme preference is not required you may leave this section blank. In this section of the application, you will need to upload your supporting documentation. Please ensure that you upload the following documents: - An up-to-date CV - Your most recent academic transcripts from prior tertiary study - RPL candidates only: you are required to submit a letter of motivation and your CV in this section. 4 Step 3: Contact details Please ensure you have filled out all relevant details in this section. Examples have been provided. Step 4: Secondary school Detail & NBT Ensure you have answered both questions: Are you writing a secondary school leaving examination in 2013, and; Is the last school you attended in South Africa? Include the name of the High School you attended and the year you completed your final exams Step 5: Post-School Activities Ensure you answer the question: Have you attended a tertiary institution since leaving school? RPL applicants, please indicate yes when asked if you have attended a tertiary education institution. To ensure that this section is not left incomplete, you will need to provide details of your activities since leaving school, and in which years these activities took place. Step 6: Tertiary Education Details Ensure you have answered the question: Do you have a diploma, a university degree, or will you graduate by the end of the 2014? RPL candidates, regardless of not being in possession of relevant undergraduate degree, please still tick yes to having a degree.the level of your qualification, and the current status of this endeavour. Please ensure that you have indicated the year, the name of the tertiary institution you are attending or have attended, the level of your qualification, and the current status of this endeavour. Please include contextualising information here if you do not have a relevant tertiary qualification. Note: You are applying for Postgraduate Diploma and therefore are required to have completed your qualification by the end of Step 7: Housing application This does not apply to this programme as it is offered in a blended learning mode. You will still need to answer no to the question: Do you wish to be considered for student housing in 2015? Page 4 of 5

5 Step 8: Funding Because the academic programme for which you are applying does not qualify for funding assistance, you won t be required to enter any details here. Step 9: Parent/Guardian Details Ensure you have filled out all the required fields here. Asterisks next to each section indicate the required fields. Step 10: Click Submit Application You are required to have 9 green ticks to submit your application. If this isn t the case, please click on Identify Missing Information on the right.
