CDN SERVICE ICSS ROUTE MANAGED DNS DEUTSCHE TELEKOM AG INTERNATIONAL CARRIER SALES AND SOLUTIONS (ICSS)
CDN FEATURE ICSS ROUTE ICSS ROUTE IS OUR NEW OFFERING TO HELP YOU MANAGE YOUR DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM (DNS) SERVICE Although it is often disregarded, DNS management is critical to every business using computers. Without DNS service s would not be relayed, servers would not be found, information would be lost in fact, complete Internet sites would go down. Working with a specialized DNS service provider will deliver a safeguard against degraded or failed service, and the resulting revenue loss, frustrated users and brand damage. Even when the importance of DNS is understood, many companies still leave DNS management to their Internet Service Providers (ISP) or try to handle it themselves. Unfortunately, those methods often rely on older technologies that can be slow, insecure against malicious attacks and difficult to manage. Working with ICSS Route, a dedicated, enterprise grade DNS service, provides protection against those problems by ensuring an up-to-date, state-of-the-art solution. Our DNS service offers a high-performance, high-availability, scalable and secure platform. In fact, when tested against competitors 1, performance improvements were shown from 15 to more than 300 percent. " #$%&'()*+,('-./
An especially important feature of ICSS Route is its resilience against DDoS attacks, which is a common problem with traditional DNS services. Another feature of ICSS Route is its intelligent, extremely fast routing. It evaluates information sent to our servers regarding the user s location, traffic load, network transiting and the nearest PoP and is thus able to ensure consistently fast responses. ICSS Route can be implemented either as a managed DNS (serves as a primary zone editor) or a secondary DNS service. It is a fully RFC compliant, authoritative-only solution. DNS zone management is available via our ICSS CDN Web portal as well as via a set of public APIs. The portal features userfriendly management, comprehensive reporting and per-user activity logging. The public API provides business specific portfolio management features and easy bulk editing capabilities. It can also be part of a heterogeneous DNS traffic management solution using a DNS CNAME (canonical name) record. Additional features such as global health checks that monitor server performance and availability and traffic management (load balancing traffic across servers + data centers, system failover) are also offered. They are configured via the portal with load balancing and failover configurations set up for address records associated with each DNS zone.
Our purpose-built DNS servers do not operate in recursive mode, what makes the service immune to cache poisoning attacks and other risks. This is a key benefit of DNS name servers that are authoritative-only. ICSS Route is also not susceptible to the known vulnerabilities inherent in services based on BIND and is highly resilient against DDoS attacks, DNS software flaws, and other exploits. Per-IP address throttling is also available to avoid DNS reflection and DNS flooding attacks. DNS is a critical piece of the overall web experience. With no up-front capital costs, ICSS Route delivers the performance, reliability, availability and security required to ensure the best possible web experience for your users in one cost-effective solution.
Benefits of Outsourcing DNS: Leverage features of a global AnyCast network Shared infrastructure Technical support available 24/ 7/ 365 Security team always available DDoS protection infrastructure Immune to cache poisoning Primary DNS not directly exposed to end-users DNS Record Types Supported A (IPv4), AAAA (IPv6), CNAME (Alias), MX (Mail Exchange), NS (Name Server), PTR (Pointer), SOA (Start of Authority), SPF (Sender Policy Framework), SRV (Service Locator), TXT (Text) World s Fastest DNS Service Leverages the speed and scale of ICSS truly global content delivery network. Solid Security Resilience against DDos attacks, known exploits in traditional DNS software, and a variety of other exposures. Easy Configuration Whether configuring record types, running health checks, or setting up a failover system, our featurerich portal and best-in-class APIs make the process quick and easy. Global Health Checks Monitor server performance, availability and traffic management. Ultimate Reliability Ensures resolution of DNS Queries 100% of the time.
