2 What is a Teaching Credential? A credential is a license issued by the State of CA allowing you to teach in a specific area. The credential specifies what subjects and grade level you are authorized to teach.
3 What are the requirements for a credential? A Bachelor s Degree Demonstration of knowledge in the subject matter(s) you will be teaching. Completion of a professional preparation program, often called a credential program.
4 Types of Credentials Multiple Subject- teaching K-8, content knowledge in all subject matter areas. Single Subject- teaching 7-12, content knowledge in one specific subject matter area. 12 Freshman Programs Fullerton Future Teachers(FFT) Students in FFT Participate in a two-semester learning community. Are early deciders for the teaching profession. Gain field experience in school settings. Meet other students aspiring to the teaching profession. Stop by the Freshman Programs table at the Resource Fair for an application.
13 EDEL/EDSC/SPED 110 This is an introductory, freshman level class that gives students the opportunity to explore teaching careers. Students learn about elementary, secondary and special education. Field experience opportunities help students confirm career choice. Highly recommended for all future teachers.
