3 President s Speech In recent years, the issues about medical errors have become an important subject. Patients and their families lost trust in physcians and the health care system. Doctors became more reluctant to perform their daily work and overwhelmed by the level of security provided to them through their workplace and are concerned about their career issues. Health care systems whether governmental or private have paid a very expensive bill as will. The medical malpractice volcano has exploded and is no more a taboo subject, and the major and most important question is not whom to blame but is how to evolve a system that can appropriately handle and prevent negligence in the first place. According to WHO, medical errors are among the top 10 killers in the world, in which 1 in 10 hospital admissions lead to adverse events and 1 in 300 admissions result in death. In developed countries, medical errors and health care adverse events affects 10 to 12% of hospitalised patients and there's a strong evidence that 50 to 70% of those can be prevented by a comprehensive systematic approaches to patient's safety. Increasing patients safety and reducing the incidence of medical errors has become a vital issue in the medical profession. Several guidelines, institutional safety practices, and technologies are now being put in place in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and physician offices to reduce the incidence of medical errors. The medical liability conference will try to provide a great mix of education and networking opportunities. A group of professionals will present topics on a wide range of issues across multiple medical liability lines. This conference works on four important perspectives: Medical errors, safe practice, medico legal principle as an aspects, as well as case presentations. It aims to reduce the gap between the current and the optimal practices. It educates physicians about the definition of medical errors and the safeguards available through the legal system of. It highlights their concerns to reduce medical errors and provides opportunities to discuss how to respond to medical malpractice claims efficiently. It also educates patients about their rights and helps them build more trust in their physicians. Furthermore the conference also emphasizes a number of prevention strategies that need to be adopted by the health care system. Last but not least it encourages media to openly and transparently to bring malpractice issues without amplification and exaggeration.
