2 The Tecnologico de Monterrey, aware of its social responsibility and the impact it generates in the community, offers through the Social Programs Division, educational alternatives and impel in them social inclusion. This is achieved by the use of communications technology and distance learning education. Through this union a model is created to facilitate the capacity buildings for development.

16 Non Governmental Organizations Antecedents The program for NGOs, Social Leaders started in 2001 with the objective of building capacities for NGOs, working with 4 areas: communications and marketing, management, sustainability and human resources and leadership. Different organizations like The World Bank Institute (WBI), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), CEMEX, Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía (CEMEFI) have participated in the program by sharing contents, giving scholarships to participants and developing different activities. By 2004 we had a total of 4 courses of managerial skills: Organizational Development, Management, Finances and Direction of Projects and Marketing and Fund Rising This program was only produced via Satellite and we are now working on its online mode to incorporate it into a multisectorial partnership

17 Non Governmental Organizations Introduction Through the experience of several years of giving the Social Leaders Program in 32 states and 22 countries of Latin America, it s been identified the interest from the private and public sector to build capacitites for NGOs and be part of the efforts to help the third sector, this originated a new paradigm for the Social Programs Division: to promote the social leadership in the different sectors.

23 Fit with Tecnologico de Monterrey strategic Vision and Plan VISION 2015 In the year 2015, Tecnológico de Monterrey will be the most widely recognized educational institution in Latin America due to the leadership exercised by alumni in the private, public, and social sectors, and for the research and technological development it carries out to promote a knowledge-based economy, generate management and business incubators models, improve public administration and public policies, and create innovative models and systems for the sustainable development of the community. This proyect goes toghether with Tecnologico de Monterrey s vision because we are looking to be present in Latin America and because with this proyect we ll have a technological development and innovatig systems for the community s sustainable development.
