1 Dear Friends, Greetings from Ghana! I trust this letter finds you all in great health as you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving. I wish to quickly update you with photos of some events my ministry has been involved in recently in Ghana as part of the efforts at reducing hunger, deprivation and malnutrition in Ghana. Please share these photos on Thanksgiving day with your families and friends! I have recently been visiting and meeting with over 500 farmers and their families in the following communities in Ghana: Osramanae in the Krachi West District of the Volta Region; Jeduako in the Nsuta-Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region; Ayim, Adenkrabie and Brekusu in the Akwapim South District of the Eastern Region During these visits, the priority issues have been discussions and actions on improving livestock and poultry production in these communities as well as meeting the nutritional needs especially of children and women in these communities through the introduction and the promotion of use of Moringa and Soybean in family diets. Missionary, Mozart Adevu (left with kid goat) demonstrates appropriate restraining of young ruminants to farmers as he waits for deworming of the kid goat by the Veterinary Officer in community of Jeduako, Ashanti Region, Ghana-October 2015

2 The major constraints in livestock husbandry have been in the yearly high incidence of pestes des petits ruminants and mange of sheep and goats. We have been working to address these to provide vaccinations and ivometrin treatments as well as providing routine deworming of stock against endoparasites Missionary, Mozart Adevu holds a kid goat for treatment by the Veterinary Officer as farmer looks on-jeduako, October, 2015

3 Photos above and below: The road to Jeduako in the Ashanti Region of Ghana could be very deplorable in the rainy season. This is one of the communities in which I serve. Getting there in the rainy season is tough but the Government is working to improve access. Photo by Mozart Adevu, October 2015
