Nov. 2015, W Prof. Henrik Mouritsen Courses on advanced presentation skills provide a practical opportunity to enhance current presentation skills and add finesse to the delivery of presentations. The training looks at how to make a presentation persuasive and includes structuring and designing of contributions for conferences, self-evaluation and body language. Please register in StudIP!

10 Oltech Transferable Skill Courses B/C Good Scientific Practice Workshop 1 day 6. November 2015 Beate Grünberg, Ferdinand Esser Ever asked yourself to whom your results belong? Or who is setting the Authorship ranking on a paper? This one-day Workshop will introduce the recommendations on good scientific practice of the Germen Science Foundation (DFG), and the official procedures for dealing with scientific misconduct at the University. It will also be discussed which mechanisms contribute to misconduct, and how every researcher can help to uphold the principles for good scientific practice in his/her day-to-day activity. Workshop, 3 days January 2016 Gunther Tress (TRESS & TRESS) Course requirements: Registration as Oltech PhD student. You already have enough data for a publication. Latest in January 2016 you are preparing or writing a paper for an international peer-reviewed journal. Course in January 2016 is full! The next course will be offered in September Registration will be opened 1 st February 2016.

12 Oltech Transferable Skill Courses A/C Scientific Image Processing and Analysis Workshop, March 2016? Dr. Jan Brocher (Biovoxxel) The workshop aims to teach scientists how to handle and process digital images starting from image acquisition on until the incorporation into the final publication figure. This includes some important theory about high quality digital images in general as well as a broad spectrum of methods for image processing and specific analytical purposes according to high scientific standards. You will learn how to extract most information from your images and how to quantify your regions of interest. Please register in StudIP! The exact date will be announced soon.
