8 Emergency Management Program A company must: Requirements n Identify and analyze all hazards/ potential hazards n Evaluate and manage risks associated with all hazards n Liaise with agencies that may be involved in an emergency situation during the development and revisions to the emergency procedures manual n Maintain an up-to-date emergency procedures manual 8
9 Emergency Management Program Requirements (contd.) n Have procedures for the safe control or shutdown of the pipeline n Conduct an assessment of response equipment n Inform all persons who may be associated with an emergency response activity on the practices and procedures to follow n Have a continuing education program for first responders, other agencies and the public residing adjacent to the pipeline n Train and instruct employees and contractors on emergency procedures and equipment n Conduct exercises to demonstrate response capability n And management system must apply 9
