14 Good practises 1. Support for schools in waste prevention A large variety of educational support is available for all ages and target groups. Imog combines the offer from different partner organizations and develops its own educational materials. 2. Composting at home Imog promotes home composting of kitchen and garden waste in order to create valuable and nutrient food for your garden 14"

15 Support for schools Todays children are tomorrows adults. Taking care of our environment and awareness of waste treatment are necessary tools in childrens education. Imog provides a large variety of support for schools: " 1. Waste bins to promote sorting at school 2. Animations for all ages 3. Guided tours at the Imog plants 4. Educational games 5. Mobile exhibitions 6. Practical sorting box 7. Printed material 8. Help and support for individual students on their graduating work 9. Events 10. Actions against littering 15"

16 1 - Waste bins Imog provides waste bins to encourage sorting at school - PMD (Plastic bottles, Metal packaging and Drinks cartons) - P&C (Paper and Cardboard) - Compost bin 1100 L PMD container 1100 L P&C container 120 L PMD container (1 / 50 pupils) P&C box (1 / classroom) 16"

17 2 - Animations Nursery school : Garbageland 50 animations in 2015 Primary school (age 6-12) : Learning Waste Management 50 animations in 2015 Secondary school (age 13-18): Xorkshop It s Clean Combines a quiz, a role-play and a debate 40 animations in 2015 Developed and executed together wit Fostplus, a private organization which promotes, coordinates, and finances the selective collection, sorting, and recycling of household packaging waste in Belgium. " 17"

18 3 Guided tours Each year, about 175 schools visit the Imog plants. Children aging from 6 to 18 experience the world of waste treatment behind the scenes. - Incineration of household waste with energy recuperation - PMD sorting center - Landfilling site with recuperation of methane gaz - Waste water treatment - Compost installation - Biomass center - Solar panels As a souvenir, each child recieves a booklet with riddles en stickers. In return, we ask that schools commit to an environmental action (taking the public transport, organizing cleanup days, ) 18"

19 4 Educational games Mr Jekkes game : a team-play with giant gameboard Schools can use the gameboard on demand. 4 teams compete about their knowledge on sorting and recycling. 19"

21 5 Mobile exhibitions Schools and communities can use the energy mobile or waste mobile on events or markets. The trailer can be transformed from the waste subject to the energy subject, depending on the demand. Inside, the trailer features different interactive modules, presenting the story of sustainability as energy mobile, or the story of sorting and recycling as waste mobile. 21"

22 6 Sorting box The sorting box is used as a practical support in classrooms. Children can see or feel the different steps in the recycling process. The basket contains 5 cylinders, filled with different waste materials and their recycling path. 22"

23 7 Printed material Imog provides a large range of printed material. - Educational file for teachers with excercises, practical information, sorting manual and detailed information about prevention, sorting and recycling. - Endless range of folders and brochures - Story-book for young children 23"

24 8 Individual students Imog supports individual students who choose a waste or energy theme for their graduating paper. In cooperation with the school mentor, students are guided to succeed in their bachelor thesis. 25 9 Events Imog provides ecological means for environmental-friendly events. Reusable cups Durable plastic cups to be reused. Reusable bottles Why bying a plastic bottle if drinkable water is available at home? Reduce the amount of plastic bottles, and use your refillable bottle with tap water. " " " 25"

26 10 Illegal dumping Imog supports schools in the battle against illegal dumping. For their clean-up actions, schools are provided with : - Gloves - Pricker - Fluorescent vests - Waste containers 26"

27 Home Composting Why composting? Compost is an inexpensive, natural process that transforms your kitchen and garden waste into a valuable free fertilizer for your garden. Composting green waste reduces the amount of waste that has to be incinerated. (43%) This is what Imog can do: 1. Promoting compost bins and boxes 2. Masters in compost 3. Educational support 27"
