Tenure Track Faculty Positions Chicago College of Performing Arts Assistant/Associate Professor and Head of Piano Teach undergraduate, graduate, and post- graduate piano performance majors. Provide artistic, curricular and organizational leadership for six part-time artistfaculty in piano. Maintain a professional artistic profile. Assist in recruiting and retaining highly qualified students. High level of professional achievement as a solo and/or collaborative artist, Master s degree, and substantial teaching experience required. In exceptional cases, extensive professional experience will be considered in lieu of academic degrees and teaching experience. Assistant/Associate Professor and Head of Jazz Teach private lessons in area of specialization. Other teaching assignments may include large or small ensembles and jazz-related coursework according to the candidate s area of interest/expertise. Provide artistic, curricular and organizational leadership of one full-time and 33 part-time artist-faculty in jazz. Maintain a professional artistic profile. Assist in recruiting and retaining highly qualified students. High level of professional achievement as a jazz artist, Master s degree, and substantial teaching experience required. In exceptional cases, extensive professional experience will be considered in lieu of academic degrees and teaching experience. College of Arts and Sciences Assistant Professor of Biology Specialty is open for this new faculty line. However, research and teaching interests in organismic-, population- or community-level biology, physiology, or immunology would particularly complement existing strengths of the department. The candidate will also supervise undergraduate and master s level student

Applicants must have a Ph.D. (post-doctoral work an asset), knowledge of modern techniques and computational methods in biology and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and undergraduate research. Assistant/Associate Professor of Literature/ MFA Director We seek candidates with at least one book of fiction from a major or midlist press; additional publications in creative non-fiction are highly desirable, and candidates should be prepared to teach MFA workshops in both areas of our thriving creative writing program. We seek strong leadership and vision for our MFA program, which draws students from across the nation, and for our growing undergraduate creative writing concentration. Applicants should be prepared to teach workshops and literature courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervise MFA theses, and administer our growing reading series. MFA or PhD in hand by August 15, The standard teaching load is six courses per year on the semester system, with an average literature class size of 20 and graduate workshop size of 10; the successful candidate will receive course reassignments for administrative duties. Assistant Professor of Women s and Gender Studies We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests include any of the following fields: cross-cultural or transnational perspectives on gender and/or sexuality; LGBTQ studies; social justice movements, activism, or advocacy. The successful candidate will have a background in interdisciplinary feminist perspectives, clear evidence of teaching in women s and/or gender studies, and an active research agenda. Strong preference will be given to candidates with interest and/or experience in programmatic development and community involvement projects. The Women s and Gender Studies program offers a master s degree, graduate certificate and undergraduate minor. Teaching duties will include introductory women s and gender studies courses and upper-division and master s level seminars in feminist theories and areas of specialization. The teaching load is six courses per year. A Ph.D. in Women s and/or Gender Studies or a relevant discipline is required by August 15, Helford Distinguished Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology The Department of Psychology seeks a senior faculty member to join our growing MA program and lead the development of a new PhD program in I/O psychology. The individual must have leadership experience in a doctoral program in I/O psychology and will be expected to teach relevant I/O courses, conduct research in areas of I/O psychology, and collaborate with colleagues in the other programs in the department. Candidates must have a PhD degree. A productive academic history in terms of both teaching and publications will be

Assistant Professor of I/O Psychology Candidates with research interests in organizational studies are encouraged to apply. The area of specialization is open. Desirable candidates will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and maintained an active research program. Roosevelt University has announced the development of a Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology. This position will be actively involved as the sixth member of the I/O staff. The I/O program currently has approximately 100 active MA level students at two campus locations, downtown on Michigan Avenue and a suburban campus in Schaumburg. College of Education Assistant Professor of Counseling and Human Services The department offers M.A. programs offered in community counseling, mental health counseling, school counseling, and human services on both the Chicago and Schaumburg campuses. Doctorate in Counselor Education required with preference given to graduates of CACREP accredited programs; area of specialization is open. Ability to teach a variety of courses and experience with clinical supervision and field-placement is desired. Assistant Professor of Language and Literacy Doctorate in reading or related field; teaching experience in a Pre K-12 setting and/or university/college teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, student advisement, scholarship, and service. Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of General Studies The college seeks a broadly interdisciplinary faculty member to teach required general education seminars for adults as part of its long-established Bachelor of General Studies/Bachelor of Professional Studies degree program: Qualified faculty will be able to teach writing, research, and critical thinking, and must be qualified to teach more advanced seminars in humanities, and/or social sciences. Quantitative skills a plus. Teaching load is 18 semester hours per year, at least part of which will be online. Earned doctorate required. Tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice is preferred, but candidates with Ph.D. in Criminology, Sociology, Administration of Justice, or a closely related field will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate criminal justice/criminal justice leadership courses, participate in the development and
4 teaching of technology-based courses, and engage in service activities for the Program. The CJ/CJL Program seeks generalists broadly trained in criminal justice. Applicants should have a strong theoretical foundation, be comfortable with multi-disciplinary perspectives, have an interest in applied criminal justice policy and the ability to bridge applied research to daily practices. Area of specialization is open, but expertise in one or more of the following will be given preference: CJ administration, policy evaluation, victim assistance, disaster management or terrorism. Tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management seeks an experienced, innovative, energetic person to teach in its undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs. Primary teaching responsibilities: Managerial Accounting, Operations Analysis, Feasibility Studies, and Research Methods. Other responsibilities: recruit, mentor, and advise students; develop and maintain cutting edge curriculum; participate in online learning, and assist in business community outreach. This person will assist in growing program enrollments at both the Schaumburg Campus and the downtown Chicago campus. Requirements: earned doctorate in hospitality, tourism, business, or related field; demonstrated leadership ability; strong communication and research, writing and speaking skills. Grant-writing and online teaching skills are desirable. At least three years of full-time industry employment experience at the executive level is desirable. Tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing Qualified candidates will hold a masters degree with a major in nursing and a doctorate in nursing, education, or related field. Individuals who are in a doctoral program with plans to complete the degree in 2008 or who are ABD will be considered. Current health care work experience, preferably in nursing education and/or administrative roles and a current Registered Nurse license in Illinois is required. Academic experience in teaching, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, use of instructional technology and expertise in content area teaching are a must. Innovation, creativity and flexibility are needed as we create the nursing programs of the future, define collaborative projects and establish partnerships with key stakeholders. This person will be instrumental in finalizing the BSN program coursework and developing the MSN program which will be offered at the Schaumburg Campus of Roosevelt University. Tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Training and Development The Graduate Program in Training and Development seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty member who will serve as chair of the department. Heller College of Business Administration Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting Responsibilities include teaching accounting (9 hours per semester) at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA and MSA) levels, conducting quality research and serving on university/college committees. Candidates should be able to teach courses in at least two of the following areas of accounting: financial, auditing, cost/managerial or tax accounting, international accounting. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting or the equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates from an AACSB accredited program and who have an established record of quality teaching and research. Professional certifications (i.e. CPA, CMA, CIA or CFE) are desirable. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Finance Responsibilities include teaching (9 hours per semester) in such areas as corporate finance, international finance, and derivatives markets at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA and MS) levels, conducting high quality research and serving on university/college committees. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who are from an AACSB accredited program and who have an established record of quality teaching, research, and an entrepreneurial focus in terms of courses/programs/certificates development. Professional certifications (i.e. CFA, CFP, etc.) are desirable. A named professorship awaits the right candidate. Non-Tenure-Track Positions College of Education Instructor/Lecturer (non-tenure-track) Master s degree in math education required; doctorate preferred; teaching experience in a PreK-12 setting required; university/college teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities include teaching eight courses per year at the undergraduate and graduate levels, student advisement, and other service. College of Arts and Sciences Math Instructor/Lecturer
6 Duties will include teaching developmental and general education math classes, integrating math laboratory and web-based resources, and coordinating the developmental math curriculum. At least a master s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education is required. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent teaching skills and experience with a variety of learning environments.
