Professor: Ivy Schweitzer Researched the biographical information of the Occom Circle, establishing footnoting system for the website, and writing biographical entries based on research. Exposed to research using html markup, TEI and all applicable digital tools. Assisted in planning and decision making for the creation and layout of the online archive. Research Fellow Jan May 2009 Newberry Library Undergraduate Seminar (NLUS) 2009: "New Nation/New Culture: The United States in the Age of the Early Republic, " Newberry Library, Chicago, IL Thesis Title: Tears and Pages: Race, Literacy, and Conversion in Antebellum Evangelical Tracts, a Study of The Negro Servant by Legh Richmond Conducted original research and performed archival work in the rich collections of the Newberry Library. Collaborated with peers through a five-month intensive, interdisciplinary, and intercollegiate research seminar. Worked with primary and rare texts and maintained direct relationship with a prestigious library.
