This has been a core part of SBA s mission since SBIC was the second program enacted into law after SBA was formed, right after the main 7(a) loan vehicle. Today, we have about 300 licensed SBICs. The SBIC program is a true public-private partnership. Our government invests in our investors, and that gives us a leg up in the global economy. Last year, the SBA shattered our record for export finance, supporting $3.1 billion in export sales. In FY 2014 SBA loans to exporters increased 12.6%. 14
