1 Immanuel Referral List Updated Mar 2014 Wendy Balman, CPCC, ACC Wendy is a professional Leadership and Team Coach who also trains other coaches. She has been part of the Alive and Well mentor and teaching team for Immanuel Lifestyle and Immanuel Prayer Ministry classes since Cardia Counseling Juliana Wilhelm, Sharon Ogden and their team Cardia Counseling Center has been using healing prayer in therapy since Immanuel is their current approach, and they have been in a supervision group with Karl Lehman in Evanston for several years now. They typically start therapy relationships with regular psychotherapy and then incorporate Immanuel as the interest and need arises. They are happy to just focus on Immanuel prayer, though if the client requests it. All staff are Licensed Psychotherapists or Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Fees are covered by most insurance policies as an out-of-network provider. They have day and evening appointments. Their bios are on the website: Carol Burge, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor ( ext. 14) I combine Immanuel with what I have learned about inner healing prayer from Francis MacNutt. I will do just Immanuel if requested. I will not offer Immanuel/healing prayer during the first two sessions but feel it is important to get background information and hear the client's treatment goals during the first two sessions. James A. Natter, Psy. D. ( x13) I was trained in Immanuel Prayer by Margaret Webb. I will do Immanuel if asked and often recommend it to those who are willing to do so. I am a clinical psychologist (Psy. D.) and do other types of therapy also (cognitive behavioral, EMDR, Adlerian, Internal Family Systems, clinical hypnosis). Sandra Kahn, MA, LPC ( ext. 19) Healing prayer (including Immanuel) is beneficial for many of the clients I work with. When invited to include Immanuel and/or other spiritual resources in our therapeutic work I welcome the opportunity (often in a mix with other treatment resources). I have 1

She also has experience and training in education, theology, and spiritual formation. She s available to facilitate prayer on a limited basis. Ray and Nancy Kane, Grace Family Counseling gracefamilycounseling@gmail.com Ray and Nancy Kane are Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors in private practice in Northbrook, Illinois, where they provide family, individual, marital, adolescent, and child therapy. Ray has a Master's in Social Work and Nancy has a Master's in Counselor Education. Nancy is an Associate Professor of Educational Ministries at the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. Both have experience with Immanuel Prayer Ministry. She has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and over ten years of experience working with individuals and families in crisis. She has been trained in Immanuel Prayer by Margaret Webb and Jessica Handy, and is able to incorporate this into treatment as clients desire. Catherine has found Immanuel Prayer to be a powerful tool in her own life as well as those she has prayed with and enjoys utilizing this tool to help others find greater joy and wholeness. Wai-Chin Matsuoka therestingplace@ymail.com Wai-Chin Matsuoka is a Spiritual Director who completed her certificate for Spiritual Direction at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation. Wai-Chin has been involved in the leadership of the Christos Chicago satellite campus & programs for many years and is currently the Facilitator for Alumni Development and an adjunct faculty for the Tending the Holy Program. She is a senior Immanuel mentor, having been involved in the training since Wai-Chin integrates her Spiritual Direction preparation, Immanuel Prayer training and her teaching gift when she offers Immanuel prayer and spiritual direction to individuals, and facilitates contemplative retreats for small and midsize groups. 3

4 Andy Ross, LCPC Andy has a Masters of Pastoral Counseling and is a licensed professional counselor. Andy has been assisting Dr. Karl Lehman for a number of years and has learned Immanuel directly from him. You can find more information about Andy through the Immanuel Network Directory (see below). Carlos and Janeil Ruiz Janeil Ruiz Carlos Ruiz Bethany Dayton Carlos and Janeil, as well as their colleague Bethany Dayton, are professional therapists trained in both theology and psychology through Wheaton College Graduate School. They haven t been fully trained in Immanuel yet but plan to take that step soon. Meanwhile, they are believers who are familiar with Immanuel and can also make referrals to other Christian counselors. Their offices are near Chicago and Grand. Kristin Sauer , call or text Kristin is trained as a pastor and health coach as well as an Immanuel Prayer Minister. She is an experienced Alive and Well mentor. Brian Stipp brianandbethstipp@gmail.com Brian has been through our Prayer Minister Training, though he started learning healing prayer long before that. He writes, I am an education professor who has been facilitating emotional healing prayer with friends, a few times a year, for the past seven years. I was introduced to the Immanuel Approach in November Since that point I have come to know the loving presence of Jesus in every moment in a way that has enriched and transformed my life. I have also started facilitating prayer for others about once a week, and watching people interact with the Lord with striking consistency. Lisa Traylor Kenosha, WI lisa.w.traylor@gmail.com Lisa's healing journey began at Church of the Resurrection's Redeemed Lives program. Before long she was trained as a Church of the Resurrection prayer minister, began serving in 1996 and hasn't looked back since! In 2011, she completed the Christos Center's Tending the Holy program for the training of spiritual directors. Most recently she attended the 2012 Immanuel Lifestyle class. Lisa practices spiritual direction out of her home in Kenosha and finds Immanuel prayer elements easily integrate into spiritual direction sessions. 4

5 Katrina Willis Katrina has been trained in Immanuel by Dr. Karl Lehman, and she has trained others in Immanuel as well as other modes of ministry and spiritual growth. She is a theologically trained church planter and networker with cross-cultural experience. Stephen Wise, LCPC Stephen has been through our Basic and Advanced training. He has also trained a group of 12 people on his own. He is a professional therapist with offices in Wheaton, Palatine/Schaumburg, and Arlington Heights.
