2 Technology Transfer at the Regional Level Research and innovation strategies became a priority in ERDF Regional Operational Programs , recognizing the role of regions in improving EU competitiveness and developing the knowledge economy For this priority is still reinforced, centred on smart specialisation strategies and connected with Horizon 2020 within the Common Strategic Framework The regional dimension is the most adequate to develop innovative clusters, involving SMEs in research networks, building knowledge communities 2

4 EUKTS Aim Increase quality in the knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) profession Provide standards and recognition framework across Europe Promote collaboration among stakeholders in KTT field (associations, networks, public and private organisations) 4

5 EUKTS Initiative Consortium of KT associations, policy makers and training providers Bottom up approach Based on relevant recommendations from CREST Experts Group and good practices at European level (CERT-TTT-M project) 5
