2 MESSE ESSEN s New Traffic Control System As a modern exhibition site, we are offering our customers a new traffic control system, which provides you with significantly improved logistics processes. Whether you are a customer, exhibitor, stand builder or carrier service, you will greatly benefit from the opportunity to make early reservations for loading/unloading timeslots on a special web platform provided specifically for this purpose. A prerequisite for using the system is that you order a service from our official exhibition site forwarder/carrier, i.e., your truck must be loaded/unloaded by one of their forklifts. Slot Management Manual We have prepared this manual to guide you through using the web platform. It provides an overview of the most important steps you need to take. Part 1: Registering Yourself and Loggin In Before you can use the timeslot management system, you must register yourself with the site (required only the first time you use it). This manual shows you how to do this, and then also shows you the standard login procedure. Page 1

4 1. Registering Yourself Before your first use of the timeslot management web platform, you must register yourself with the system (required only the first time you use it). The registration procedure generates your new account, which can also be created as group account for your company. The first person from your company who becomes authorised to use the web platform by registering him/herself automatically becomes the administrator for your company. He/she then defines the people of your company who will also be granted access to the timeslot management IT system. URL for registering yourself: To register yourself, you must enter your address and fill out the CAPTCHA. An containing the relevant access data (temporary password) for your first standard login is then sent automatically to the address you provided. Page 3

5 2. Standard Login The standard login dialog for the slot management IT system is located on the welcome page. The password required for your first login was sent to you following registration. For future logins, you enter your user name and a new password, which you can define yourself. URL of the web platform: Page 4

6 3. Forgotten Your Password? If you have forgotten your password, click the Password forgotten? link shown below the login fields. This leads you to a new dialog prompting you to answer the question you should have defined previously for the case that you do forget your password. When you select the question you wanted to be asked and answer it correctly, a new temporary password you will be sent to your account. Use this password to log in, and then define a new password for yourself. Page 5

7 4. Link to Registration Page When you click Create New Account, the system shows you the URL given above in section 1. Registering Yourself, which is used exactly for this procedure. To go to the registration page, you must open a new browser window and copy and paste the URL into the address line of that window. There is no hyperlink to this page. Page 6
