It is designed to give young people an opportunity to look at real issues facing them in today s society as well as help them build character and integrity in their future decision making. LEARN TODAY TO LEAD TOMORROW!!!! This Summit is sponsored by the Maryland Prince Hall Masonic Family and other caring individuals and businesses. It is to be held on August 3 5, 2012 at Hagerstown, MD. The goals of the 1 st Prince Hall Family Youth Summit is to instill values, responsibility, communication, and leadership skills. Information will be disseminated in an interesting and enthusiastic manner to capture the attention of all involved. The youth & adult leaders who are attending the summit will learn from the inspiring motivational speakers and activities presented. This training is to provide a framework for boosting self-image, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, setting and achieving goals, making proper decisions, improving communication and relationships with peers, parents and authority figures involved in their lives and community.

On behalf of Myra Grand Chapter Youth Fraternities Order of the Knights of Pythagoras of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland, we would like to invite you to the 1 st Annual Youth Summit, August 3 5, 2012, at the Clarion Conference Center, Hagerstown, MD. The room rate is $85.00 per night. Please contact the Clarion Hotel at with the group code of Prince Hall Family Youth Summit (PHFYS). In order to plan properly, it is imperative that all participants pre-register. The registration fee is $50.00 per person. The registration deadline is July 14, Checks should be made payable to Maryland Prince Hall Youth Summit and mailed to Prince Hall Youth Summit 1307 Eutaw Place, Baltimore, MD The Maryland Prince Hall Family wants to make this youth summit a learning and memorable experience. 5 Spotlight of Events SESSIONS/SEMINAR The seminars are topics that effect today s youth. Issues that are relevant to what they watch on television, in the theatres, exposed to via the internet, and listen too on the radio. ***Each participant is required to select two seminars of choice *** A. Violence/Bullying B. Peer Pressure C. Drug and Alcohol abuse D. Wealth /Entrepreneur E. Sex/Abstinence F. Self Awareness/ Your role G. Arts & Craft (Younger Youth) TALENT SHOW The Talent Show will be held on Friday, 08/03/2012 at the Grand Youth Conference and will represent an array of talent to include: Singing, Poetry, Drama (Educational Short Play or Skit) Praise Dancing, High Stepping (Please, No Offensive Routines) and Musical Instruments. Each Youth Fraternity is asked to participate. The deadline for submitting the talent show form is July 20, Please submit the youth talent form as soon as possible this will assist us with adequately prepare for the 2012 Grand Youth Summit. SENIORS AWARD 2012 (Maryland Students Only) If you have any GRADUATING SENIORS in your Youth Group, please share the exciting news so that we can adequately prepare for the seniors at the 2012 Grand Youth Summit. All seniors are welcome to apply for the Scholarship Award. The application is due on or before June 25, Applicant must be a student in Maryland School System 2. Applicant must be a graduating senior 3. Applicant must submit an acceptance letter from an Institution of Higher Learning 4. Applicant must have a minimum, cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale Applicant must complete a 300 word Personal Essay. In your essay, please answer the question --: What do I Need to do in order to be a productive youth in today s society? 5. DEADLINE for scholarship applications is June 25, 2012 (No exceptions). 6. You will be notified by mail or phone in July regarding the status of your application
6 KING AND QUEEN CONTEST Each Youth Fraternity is REQUIRED to represent at the Grand Youth Conference with two contestants regardless of gender or age. The contestants representing with the highest amount of money raised from selling ads in the Souvenir Journal will be crowned King and Queen. The King and Queen will be presented on Saturday, 08/4/2012. AWARD RECOGNITION Each Youth group can nominate a youth for each category. M.W. Melvin M. Thorpe G.M.
