1 MEDIA RELEASE AS APPROVED BY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore launches TM Retirement Paycheck to help customers plan and secure their retirement The only retirement product in Singapore that provides guaranteed monthly paycheck and a non-guaranteed yearly bonus of up to 12 times 1 the guaranteed monthly paycheck Singapore, 15 April 2014 Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd, one of Singapore s fastest growing life insurers, today launched TM Retirement Paycheck, a limited pay, participating endowment plan, designed to address the need for retirement planning. As the only product in Singapore that offers a non-guaranteed yearly bonus of up to 12 times the guaranteed monthly paycheck and guaranteed monthly paychecks for 20 years, TM Retirement Paycheck allows policyholders to receive their paycheck even after retirement. Lance Tay, CEO of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore, commented: We are seeing an increasing number of customers who are concerned about securing their retirement but lack the know-how to do so. As lifespans increase with healthcare advancements, we are hearing customer concerns over whether their existing funds will be sufficient. At the same time, many are looking to retire ahead of the planned retirement age while wanting to ensure they do not compromise their lifestyles. Planning for retirement early is important in getting a good start, and we are committed to being the partner of choice for our customers. We have specially developed TM Retirement Paycheck to address the needs of the market, allowing our customers to get paid even after they stop working. 1 Starting from the policy anniversary on which the life assured reaches the selected retirement age, a non-guaranteed yearly bonus will be payable for 20 years. This yearly bonus is a non-guaranteed annual dividend and is up to 12 times the guaranteed monthly paycheck, based on a projected investment rate of return of 4.75 per cent p.a. on the Participating Fund. Since the yearly bonus is non-guaranteed, the actual amount payable may vary according to the future performance of the Participating Fund.

2 According to an independent study 2 conducted in 2013, many Singaporeans are not saving adequately, nor are they saving early enough for retirement. While the majority of Singaporeans consider personal and CPF savings to be their most important sources of retirement income, less than one in three Singaporeans are actually aware of how much CPF savings they will have when they reach the age of 55. As a general rule of thumb, most would require 50 to 70 per cent of their last drawn annual income to maintain their current standard of living during retirement. With rising costs of living, Singaporeans will require more savings to achieve the desired retirement lifestyle. Addressing this gap, TM Retirement Paycheck provides an additional layer of retirement income over and above what a retiree would receive from CPF LIFE, as well as complements other sources of income from payouts or personal savings. Additionally, TM Retirement Paycheck allows customers to exercise their option to retire early with retirement age options of 55, 60 or 65 years old, providing the flexibility to manage and plan their finances. The other key features of TM Retirement Paycheck include: Flexible premium payment terms available Customers can choose to pay the premiums over 5, 10 or 15 years, based on their financial comfort. Capital Guaranteed 3 - Once the customer reaches their selected retirement age, they are assured to receive 100 per cent of their total annual premiums paid in the form of a guaranteed surrender value plus the guaranteed monthly paycheck. Hassle-free application with guaranteed issuance - With no medical underwriting needed, customers can start saving for their retirement immediately. Enhance financial security with a maturity benefit - At the end of the 20-year payout period, customers will receive a lump sum maturity benefit comprising of a guaranteed maturity benefit and any non-guaranteed dividends 4. 2 Source: "Saving for retirement now top priority" article by The Business Times on 17 April Applicable to annual premium payment mode only. 3 Reinvest with us: If the customer reinvested the guaranteed monthly paychecks and yearly bonuses with Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd., they can look forward to receiving all of it back with interest 5. Protection from the unforeseen - Customers can enjoy enhanced coverage with optional riders 6 to help their loved ones cope in difficult times. The option to deposit the guaranteed monthly paychecks and yearly bonuses is provided at Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd. s (TMLS) discretion and may be withdrawn at anytime. In which case, TMLS will inform policyholders/customers in writing with the alternative payment method. 6 Riders are subject to full underwriting.
