3 from every possible angle Let s look at salaries To succeed in the increasingly competitive world of accounting and finance, you must be more than a one-dimensional professional. Today, the top people in our industry are those who align the technical skills required for the job with the right mix of social and professional characteristics that move an organization forward from a holistic perspective adding a diversity of thought, experiences, and viewpoints. However, professionals like this are becoming increasingly selective about where they want to work, and our clients are discovering that it takes much more effort to find the people they need. It stands to reason that to successfully identify, evaluate, attract and engage multi-dimensional talent, you need to take a multi-dimensional approach. Trends show that companies with the most effective recruiting and retention strategies are those that take a more universal look at the process by considering things like social media, generational differences, cultural fit and work/life balance. However, identifying the talent that improves your organization s operational and cultural performance is only part of the struggle. You must also offer appropriate compensation and opportunities for training, advancement and enrichment. After all, if you ve invested so much in searching for the perfect employees, it s important to keep them happy and away from your competition. With all of this in mind, we created our 2015 Salary Guide to give you a 360 look at salary and industry trends. In addition to being the premier resource for national, local and regional salary data, it also should give you a greater understanding of and appreciation for what goes into recruiting and retaining today s top talent. We hope it helps you approach your salary discussions from a whole new angle. 6 in this guide About the salaries The figures in this 2015 Salary Guide are based on national averages compiled through Parker + Lynch s partnership with CareerBliss, a career community dedicated to helping people find happiness in the workplace and in life. CareerBliss has millions of salary reports from real employees that are aggregated and formatted to be helpful to employers and employees alike, and their work has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Fox Business, Forbes and many other media outlets. To further validate the data, each office in the Parker + Lynch nationwide branch network compared the figures with their own internal data, as well as that of local clients and accounting and finance professionals in their market. Based on that review, the figures were revised to ensure local accuracy. This comprehensive approach results in more regionally accurate data than the public data that is found in other salary guides.
