Position Advertisement Contract FTE 0.8 1.0 (60-75 hours per fortnight) until 30 June 2016 Dubbo Marathon Health is an independent, not for profit organisation that is focused on the delivery of best practice clinical and allied health services. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion to deliver Paediatric Occupational Therapy and join our dynamic Primary Health Services Team. The successful applicant with be based in Dubbo (negotiable) and outreach to Western NSW communities as well as provide clinical supervision to Allied Health Assistants via remote and telehealth modalities where appropriate. This fantastic opportunity offers a salary in the range of $30.00 - $48.00 based on qualifications and experience, plus a generous salary packaging and superannuation. The incumbent will also assess and establish appropriate therapeutic programs for Allied Health Assistants to implement using remote and telehealth supervision models. Key Relationships The reports to the Primary Health Services Team Leader and is part of a multidisciplinary primary health services team. The position requires the incumbent to work in partnership with parents, carers, health, early childhood educators and education stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and equitable delivery of primary health services. Position Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Provide occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment, planning and referrals for individuals, families and communities. Identify, develop and achieve client outcomes specific to each child s intervention Liaise with and develop ongoing partnerships with Western NSW Local Health District, Department of Education and Training, allied health providers, GP s, government and non-government agencies. Increase accessibility of services to those who identify as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander. Provide routine communication to each client s GP regardless of referral source and endeavor to link those clients who do not have a regular GP to an appropriate general practice. Incorporate where appropriate lifestyle risk factor modification services into service delivery. Manage appointment schedules, programs and client schedules. Maintain accurate documentation of service provision and clinical records. Ensure confidentiality of each client is maintained in accordance with professional guidelines and program requirements. Contribute to and maintain the standards set out in the Clinical Governance Program. Operate within a professional scope of practice as required by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Occupational Therapy Australia. Monitor changing demands of the service and liaise with the Primary Health Services Team Leader to ensure service best meets demands. Meet regularly with the Primary Health Services Team Leader and actively contribute to the Primary Health Services Team. Complete monthly statistics, program reports and administrative tasks in a timely manner and within the allocated deadline. Promote the use of Patient Controlled Electronic Health Record to consumers and providers of Allied Health Services. Provide clinical supervision to Marathon Health employed Allied Health Assistants on an ongoing basis. Selection Criteria Essential Recognised qualification/s in relevant health field and professional registration with AHPRA. The ability to manage a clinical case load, including the provision of paediatric occupational therapy services. The ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and young people including the ability to adapt services to meet varying cultural needs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a team environment whilst also working autonomously. Sound computer skills. Current Drivers Licence. Desirable Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating health projects to rural communities. Experience in delivering outreach occupational therapy services.
