Number of antenatal care (ANC) visit % of women who gave birth The survey in 2005 showed that approximately 92% of women who gave at least a live birth received ANC, 93% did so from a skilled provider. NB: Gap to 100% refers to the proportion of women who did not go to ANC. Perinatal mortality rate (2005) Perinatal mortality rate consists of stillbirth and early neonatal mortality rate. The survey in 2005 indicated that the perinatal mortality rate was around 18 per 1000 births. Stillbirth rate was reported to be higher in rural areas than in urban areas. 4
Perinatal mortality rate by subregion (2005) At subregional level, the perinatal mortality rate ranged from a low of 7.8 per 1000 pregnancies in Ararat to a high of 42.1 per 1000 pregnancies in Shirak. NB: No cases of stillbirths and/or early neonatal deaths were reported in Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak, Syunik and Yerevan. Nutrition Anaemia in pregnancy The survey in 2005 suggested that approximately 27% of women had mild anaemia and approximately 12% had moderate anaemia. Low birth weight (LBW) % of babies weighing less than 2.5kg The survey in 2005 indicated that, of those who were weighed, 7.4% were reported to weigh less than 2.5kg at birth. Fertility Total fertility rate Total fertility rate per woman Total fertility rate consists of wanted total and fertility rate and unwanted total fertility rate. The survey showed slightly higher teenage pregnancy rate among women living in rural areas than their urban counterpart.
