Purpose The Role of the Administration Officer in the Typing Pool is to provide an efficient and prompt transcription service to all clinical outpatient areas of the Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital and District Health Services.

Key Accountabilities Provide a prompt and accurate transcription service for outpatient correspondence across a diverse range of specialities in the RBWH. Use the Digital Dictation System efficiently and effectively to transcribe outpatient correspondence. Participate in the meeting of departmental Key Performance Indicators and ensure individual Key Performance Indicators set by the department are met with a high level of consistency. Monitor and maintain appropriate timeframes for the turnaround of outpatient correspondence including timely and accurate approval processes. Assume general administrative responsibilities as required to contribute to the daily operations of the medical records transcription pool. Participate in ongoing Quality Activities within the Transcription Service including the Digital Dictation System. Prioritise workload effectively and perform duties responsibly in the absence of supervision. Execute ethical decision-making in the achievement of departmental and organisational objectives. Comply with and adhere to Queensland Health policies, procedures, standards and legislation relevant to the role and work area. Other duties as required by Supervisor.
