Your opportunity Apply knowledge skills at a level of competency commensurate with clinical experience in the provision of quality laboratory services in Cytogenetics. Your role Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values as outlined above. Apply increasingly independent scientific judgement commensurate with level of experience in the analysis of patient specimens using traditional molecular cytogenetic techniques including, but not limited to chromosome studies, FISH, microarray QF-PCR. Undertake diagnostic testing related duties following Pathology Queensl established protocols stards in accordance with prescribed professional ethical stards. Assist in the development of policies, procedures protocols within the Cytogenetics laboratory. Develop scientific knowledge expertise through active learning by engaging in professional development activities. Work cooperatively, communicate effectively within the team with clients, both internal external to the laboratory. Participate in the identification, development implementation of quality service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification. Commensurate with level of experience, with the guidance of senior staff, provide education supervision for less experienced practitioners including operational staff, students or support staff. Matory qualifications/professional registration/other requirements The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree qualification in Medical Laboratory Science (or relevant equivalent qualification) from a recognised university or tertiary institution. Following consultation with relevant unions, an employee may be required to participate in new or varied roster arrangements including 24 hour shift work, on-call weekend rosters. Currently the roster arrangements include weekend rosters. How you will be assessed? You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under Your role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Knowledge expertise, at a minimum, obtained through relevant tertiary education, but increasing commensurate with experience.
