ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES WELCOME TO ASCOT REHAB At Ascot Rehab, we specialise in rehabilitation for patients diagnosed with neurological conditions, injury of the brain or spine and stroke. With a Head Office in London, patient Neurorehabilitation Centre in Bagshot, Surrey and an outpatient and outreach service, we are conveniently placed to welcome patients from London and surrounding counties, wider UK and overseas. We provide the highest quality, consultant-led rehabilitation and care for patients, and accept privately referred patients, and patients referred from embassies and overseas governments. 3

ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES Ascot Rehab s priorities are to provide the best neurological expertise and highest standards of patient care. Our team will assist our patients in any way that we can. For international patients at our Bagshot Park Neurorehabilitation Centre, this might include overcoming language and cultural barriers. Our Head Office team can help with interpreting, transport and recommending suitable accommodation for family to help facilitate a patient transfer, as well as any other requests. We provide three types of service: Inpatient services Outpatient services Outreach services (at home therapy) 5

ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES A HOME AWAY FROM HOME At Ascot Rehab, we believe that for effective rehabilitation, it is important for our patients to feel that they are staying in a welcoming environment; a home away from home. We encourage our patients families and friends to be involved in their care and to learn about their therapy requirements as much as possible. We facilitate this by: Providing a visitor lounge Offering flexible visiting hours Teaching family and friends about care needs to support patients post discharge. 6

ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES Feeling at home can be difficult for patients who are far from their familiar surroundings, and so, we provide an add-on service for overseas and UK based patients to make transition easier. Our add-on transition service includes: A liaison service with existing care arrangements to ensure a smooth transfer to Ascot Rehab and continuity of care Interpreter service Health insurance assistance Transport to and from airports, hospital and hotels Preferential room rates at local hotels for family and friends Transport for family and friends to and from London A list of entertainment nearby for family and friends (shopping, restaurants and spas) 9

ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION CENTRE The Ascot Rehab Neurorehabilitation Centre is situated in Bagshot, a short drive from London and between two major UK airports; Heathrow and Gatwick. We are the ideal location for recovery; a semi-rural, peaceful environment with pleasant views, but an easy commute into central London. A private wing offers our patients comfortable, individually designed en-suite rooms and a residents lounge with views of the private garden or of Royal Bagshot Park. 10

OUTREACH SERVICES We provide an outreach service for patients in London and surrounding counties who prefer to receive this service in their own home. Ideal for those with busy social, work or care arrangements, our therapists will plan assessments and subsequent therapy sessions to suit a patient s availability. 17

ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES OUR TEAM Working as a multi-disciplinary team means that each of our patients benefits from an integrated care package, through utilising the wide range of therapy and complementary care skills our staff offer. We believe this is essential to help every person achieve their full potential and improve their well-being. CONSULTANTS All of our consultants are highly qualified specialists. They include Consultant Neurologists, Neuropsychiatrists and Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine with years of experience in their field. INPATIENT TEAM Our inpatients care needs are looked after by our skilled nursing team, overseen by our Head of Rehabilitation. OTHER SPECIALISMS We have close working relationships with other healthcare professions such as Dieticians, Pharmacists and specialists in a number of medical disciplines. We can provide a number of these services as part of a bespoke patient package. NEUROTHERAPY TEAM Our highly experienced Neurotherapy Team and their associates are renowned in their field. They have extensive experience in private and national hospitals and neurorehabilitation centres in and around London. Their disciplines cover Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Speech and Language. ASCOT REHAB NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES REFERRALS We understand that every patient s needs and circumstances differ and for this reason, our packages are tailored per patient. We work closely with our patients and their family to identify the best rehabilitation and care pathway possible. SELF-FUNDED REFERRALS We will require a referral from your consultant. PRIVATE INSURANCE REFERRALS Some health insurance companies will fund rehabilitation in full or cover a period of inpatient rehabilitation. We suggest that all patients confirm directly with their health insurance whether funding is possible prior to booking. We also require a letter from your consultant. LEGAL FIRMS REFERRALS We prefer to assess referrals in advance of any admission so that we can include the correct level of care and therapy. Please contact our Head Office for more information.
