Preamble Family Life is an independent, entrepreneurial community service organisation, offering a range of services, support and community building services. Family Life s work is acknowledged at all government levels for our innovation, impact and whole of community approach. Priority is given to vulnerable families, children and young people. Since its foundation in 1970 volunteers and community supporters have played a crucial role in the organisation. The organisation has grown significantly and now has +120 employees and around 400 volunteers. A creative specialist is required in this role to secure traditional and emerging resources to support current initiatives and secure the long term future of the Mission. The Donor and Bequest Manager is based at Sandringham however from time to time the incumbent may be requested to work from, or be based at, other Family Life sites. Key Objectives 1. To grow community investment and donations, both in-kind and financial, in Family Life. 2. To position Family Life as the community service organisation of choice, across all investor market segments. Position Description- Donor and Bequest Manager- May 2015 Page 1 of 5

3. To implement strategies that capture emerging opportunities and digital applications to enrol, engage and build the trust of potential investors. Such investors include users of digital technologies, lawyers, financial advisors and fund managers. 4. To secure and maintain significant investments through Corporate Partnerships. 5. To achieve investment and donation budgets. 6. To manage and maintain relationships with new and current Community Investors. 7. To source and enrol community partners aligned with Family Life s mission and values, to auspice Family Life s annual community fundraising events. 8. To manage quality standards and regulatory compliance in relation to Donors, Corporate Partnerships and Investments. Accountability The Donor and Bequest Manager is accountable to the CEO through the General Manager Finance and Development. Performance Review All staff are required to participate in an annual Performance Plan and Review and development of an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Communication with others Position supervised by: General Manager Finance and Development Communicates internally with: Executive Leadership Team, Board and management Communicates externally with: Current and potential Donors, Corporate Supporters and Sponsors, Trusts and Foundations, Philanthropists, Community Representatives, Fund Managers, Lawyers and Financial Advisors Key Responsibilities Donor Development Develop annual action plan and KPIs in line with organisation s Forward Plan. Develop, lead and implement the Donor Development strategy including: o Donor Communications Plan o Regulatory compliance o Risk management. Source and secure new Donors. Investigate digital strategies that target potential investors. Develop and implement a plan for engaging lawyers, financial advisors and fund managers. Increase value of donations from current Donors. Manage and grow philanthropic engagement and investment. Develop, manage and implement Bequest strategy. Grow organisation s revenue from identified market segments. Trust / Foundations. Maintain effective relationships with current key philanthropic Trusts and Foundations. Participate with the Executive Leadership Team to enhance the success of new funding proposals. Manage the acquittals process in relation to Trusts and Foundations. Corporate and Community Partnerships Create an engagement with and alignment to Family Life. Lead and manage the outsourced Events strategy ensuring alignment with Family Life brand: o Secure major community partners to auspice Family Life s established annual community events. Establish quality and compliance protocols and a framework to manage all corporate and community partnerships o Assist managers with establishment of agreements/contracts/trading terms and the acquittal of same o Advise managers of risks and watch-outs. Coach, guide and provide support to managers, regarding management of corporate partnerships, trusts and donors. Develop corporate partnerships, and negotiate and secure events that benefit Family Life financially and support the organisation s mission. Manage corporate partners to ensure auspiced events increase the profile of Family Life and result in income generation. Represent Family Life at key events. Marketing Create and implement an integrated marketing strategy that meets the needs of income generation across all Family Life service and business units. Design, develop and implement community engagement strategies that increase Family Life s profile, brand and income. Design, develop and implement high-impact marketing collateral across all communication platforms to support organisation forward plan, reputation and brand profile. Participate in forums to optimise use of digital strategies for marketing and profile raising. Utilise digital technology channels to distribute marketing collateral targeting traditional and potential investors. Participate with the General Manager Operations and Business Development Manager in developing metrics and data analysis to review and report on marketing reach and returns. Utilise the Salesforce database to analyse opportunities to embrace new opportunities for growing awareness and engagement to our mission and services. Utilise technologies to reach emerging investor-markets. Leadership and Management Analyse and report on performance, tracking responses to strategies against the various communication and marketing channels. Manage the allocated budget for Community Investment and marketing function. Develop team-member work plans to implement the Strategies. Bi-monthly progress reports against Action Plan. 6 monthly budget and metrics report against Action Plan KPIs. Participate in the Executive Leadership Team as requested. Contribute to the strategic review and planning processes of Family Life. Provide leadership and role model organisational values and code of ethics for staff. Represent the organisation in public forums as required. Perform other duties consistent with the position as required by the CEO and consistent with meeting the contractual and compliance obligations of the organisation as these may vary over time.
