3 A PRIVATE VIEW OF french ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE The Cité de l architecture & du patrimoine is currently the largest architectural centre worldwide. It is located in the north-east wing of the Palais de Chaillot, facing the Eiffel Tower across the river, and it provides an exceptional setting for private corporate events. Its unique collections, presented in vast galleries overlooking the Seine, cover 1,000 years of French architecture. Each year, the Cité exhibits the past and contemporary work of great French and international architects. The Cité s 23,000 m 2 surface area (250,000 sq ft) includes a great variety of spaces, from the vast to the intimate. These can be used to host seminars, press conferences, product launches, fashion shows, either seated or standing receptions and prestige evening events. The internal spaces and their outstanding views of Paris are ideal settings for still and movie photography. 4 Gallery of Casts, Museum of French Monuments The Cité de l architecture & du patrimoine provides a unique setting for your prestige events in the very midst of the Museum s collections. The Gallery of Casts is an exceptional place with its full-size reproductions of France s most fascinating buildings, and its view onto the Trocadéro gardens. As you walk through time and space, you see the entire history of French architecture from First Romanesque to the Age of Enlightenment, such as the splendid polychrome tympanum of Conques Abbey, the dome of Cahors Cathedral and the magnificent fountains of Nancy. This unique journey will take you from the Gallery of Casts through the picture gallery to the modern and contemporary architecture gallery, which presents the latest improvements in architecture and urban planning. Your guests will enter these galleries via the Trocadéro entrance, which overlooks the Eiffel Tower across the Seine. This exclusive tour of the galleries is easy to combine with a business breakfast or buffet reception in the Trocadéro entrance hall and/or on its attending terrace. These à la carte arrangements are a practical, yet prestigious way, to entertain your guests. For instance, a pleasant working breakfast can be held for a small number of guests at a reasonable cost, in the Trocadéro hall or in the architecture library. 7 Salon d about (GARDEN END TOP FLOOR) SUITE ELLE DéCORATION At either end of the Palais de Chaillot (Trocadéro and Garden end) the top floor has been converted into new reception areas; their terraces overlook the Trocadéro Gardens and offer an outstanding view of the Seine and the city.as you look around, you discover the typical buildings of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Basilique du Sacré Cœur in Montmartre, the Grand Palais and the Louvre, with all the variations of colour and changing light. The Salon d About is a white space reception area and can be styled exactly as you like whatever the requirements of your event e.g press conference, product launch, award ceremony, customer reception, for a cocktail party or an open-air breakfast. CAPACITY: 120 SEATED / 250 STANDING AVAILABLE: EVERY DAY USABLE AREA INSIDE: 256 M 2 (2,760 SQ FT) TERRACE AREA: 258 M 2 (2,780 SQ FT) At the Trocadéro end, which used to be the apartment of Jacques Carlu, the architect of the Palais de Chaillot, the Suite Elle Décoration is now used for temporary events in the field of interior design. For the third year in a row, the Cité de l architecture & du patrimoine and ELLE Décoration magazine have given interior designers a free hand to occupy and transform this area. After the interventions of Christian Lacroix and Maison Martin Margiela, it is the turn of Jean Paul Gaultier to take over the Suite ELLE Décoration, with the support of Roche Bobois, sponsor of this installation. Three famous themes are presented: the now classic marine motifs, the corset dress in powder pink satin and the green touch of luxurious jungle, which truly gives the Suite its special appeal. These long rooms are particularly well suited for fashion shows. The Upper Gallery, which originally hosted the museum of the Cinémathèque Française, combines today s design and modernity. Easy to access, the Lower Gallery can be used for corporate seminars or gala evenings in a majestic setting. 10 AUDITORIUM For thirty years this was the focal point of the famous Cinémathèque Française. It is now a highly-equipped auditorium that has been restored, but retains key elements of the original style. With state of the art sound and lighting systems, this area can be used for a variety of events. The auditorium entrance is independent from the rest of the museum. The adjacent foyer can also be used for cocktail parties, coffee breaks or as a one-day exhibition area. It is equipped with writing tablet chairs, a video screen and a sound system. 11 salle carlu The unique Salle Carlu illustrates the Cité s policy of encouraging young architects work. Designed by Maria Colomer and Adrien Dumont, winners of the NAJA Young Architects award, it was executed in partnership with Terreal, a leading terracotta company. CAPACITY: 25 SEATED AVAILABLE: EVERY DAY USABLE AREA: 57 M 2 (610 SQ FT) salle Davioud The Cité commissioned architect Rémy Marciano to design this room. It is the only part of the Cité that reveals the bossed pedestals of the original Trocadéro Palace, built in The room was restored in association with Lafarge, using Ductal concrete, showing this ultra-high performance material.
