5 THE COMPANY MAHA MAHA was founded in 1969 in Allgäu. With competence, efficiency and innovation it has taken over the market leadership as workshop outfitter in many of the product segments. At its own locations MAHA develops and produces all types of vehicle test stands as well as complete systems for measuring, controlling and adjusting motor vehicles. The manufacturing program is supplemented by vehicle lifts in various versions, as well as units for emission control of vehicles and work machinery. 22 DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM VIMAS With the Vehicle Inspection Management System (VIMAS) we offer an onlinebased data management system for test data that is able to communicate with higher authorities online via a network. Centralized data storage and reference data administration as well as detailed evaluation possibilities are the advantages of this solution. Ever greater amounts of data are collected with the periodical technical vehicle inspection (PTI) and need to be managed: vehicle and owner data, target values, test results, technical condition reports, test appointments, etc. This simplifies the central evaluation of vehicle inspection, such as, for example, the information exchange among the test stations and test organizations. VIMAS offers numerous economic advantages to various institutions organizations, associations and companies that are involved with technical vehicle inspection.
