This is to ensure that all students can benefit from ITE training in a safe and conducive environment. Applicants or students assessed by ITE as being unfit can be withdrawn from the course. Where appropriate, they may be considered for other courses if there are suitable ones. The Learning Accessibility Office (LAO) at each ITE College will provide support to students with Special Education Needs in their learning process at ITE. Applicants with specific disabilities are strongly encouraged to seek prior academic course advising from the respective College(s) before selecting their choice of application. For further assistance on course advising before submission of application, please call the ITE Customer Service Hotline on 1800-CALL ITE ( ) or visit ITE website at Notes: SPECIAL ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (SAE) 1 ITE also conducts a Special Admissions Exercise for admission to the following Higher courses. Interested applicants may apply online at during the application period. The exact application dates will be published in The Straits Times, The New Paper and the ITE website following the release of 2015 GCE O Level Examination results. Applicants may be offered a course under the progression intake and another course under the SAE. Applicants who are offered courses under both progression intake and SAE can decide to accept one of the 2 offers. All offers that are not taken up by the stipulated date given will lapse. 4 Higher in Beauty & Spa Management Applicants who wish to progress to the Higher in Beauty & Spa Management course offered at ITE College East are required to apply under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with ITE College East for more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview before the final selection. All applicants also have to pass a pre-admission medical examination. Higher in Hospitality Operations Applicants who wish to progress to the Higher in Hospitality Operations course offered at ITE College West are required to apply under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with ITE College West for more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview and may be required to sit for an entrance test before the final selection. Higher in Leisure & Travel Operations Applicants who wish to progress to the Higher in Leisure & Travel Operations course offered at ITE College West are required to apply under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with ITE College West for more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview and may be required to sit for an entrance test before the final selection. Higher in Paramedic & Emergency Care in Nursing graduates who wish to progress to the Higher in Paramedic & Emergency Care course offered at ITE College East are required to apply under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and may check directly with ITE College East for more information. Shortlisted candidates have to attend and pass an interview. Due to the special requirements of the healthcare profession and in the delivery of direct patient care, all applicants have to pass a pre-admission medical examination and be free from physical and mental handicap to ensure suitability. Whilst not comprehensive, the following medical conditions will lead to non-acceptance into the course: a) Colour Appreciation Deficiency g) Uncontrolled Asthma b) Epilepsy h) Uncontrolled Diabetes c) Legal Blindness i) Uncontrolled Hypertension d) Active Tuberculosis j) Mobility Restricted (Hindering Performance) e) Profound Deafness k) Physical Dependence Upon Mobility Equipment f) Psychiatric Condition Higher in Sport Management Applicants who wish to progress to the Higher in Sport Management course offered at ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West are required to apply under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with the respective ITE Colleges for more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview and may be required to sit for an entrance test before the final selection. Entry to direct Year 2 of the Higher in Sport Management course is only offered at ITE College East and ITE College West for Apr 2016 intake. IMPORTANT: in Fitness Training graduates from 2012 and earlier intakes with 3.0 and above who wish to gain direct admission into 2 nd year of the Higher in Sport Management course will need to satisfy additional curriculum requirements. This will result in a heavy course load. Please check with the College staff on the details during the admission interview. 2 Progression to Higher courses is based on relevancy of qualification to Higher courses applied, merits and subject to vacancies. Depending on your progression eligibility, you can apply for Yr 1 Entry or Yr 2 Entry or both Yr 1 Entry and Yr 2 Entry to Higher courses in your application choices. Page 4 of 5

NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) DEFERMENT National Service (NS) liable males who wish to pursue full-time ITE courses in 2016 and were born in the year 1995 or earlier for graduates progressing to Higher courses will have to check their eligibility for NS Deferment at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB). Students who are not eligible for NS deferment will need to withdraw from the course that they are enrolled. Page 5 of 5
