3 Congratulations On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and Canterbury Christ Church University, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend your graduation at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Canterbury (after which our University is named), and to attend celebratory drinks at Augustine House following the ceremony, at which you can celebrate with friends, family and academic staff. We hope you have enjoyed your time at Canterbury Christ Church University and wish you all the best for the future. Closing date for replies The closing date is clearly stated on your reply form. Unfortunately we cannot confirm the time of your graduation ceremony until after the closing date for replies, once we know the number of attendees. Reply forms and payments received after the closing date will not be accepted and you will not be able to graduate on this date. We advise you to complete your reply form, including online payment for guest tickets if required, via our web page: If you are currently a member of CCCU University staff do not fill out the reply form instead contact the office directly via registry.events@canterbury.ac.uk Your reply form contains your personal details as previously verified by you and held by the University. Please check these details thoroughly and advise us of any changes by ing registry.events@canterbury.ac.uk If you are unable to attend, you may request to defer your graduation once you have been invited. If you wish to request this, please registry.events@canterbury.ac.uk Disability requirements Canterbury Christ Church University will endeavour to make reasonable provisions to enable graduands and guests with disability requirements to participate in and enjoy our graduations. Please advise us of your requirements by providing full details on your reply form. Confirmation of arrangements will be sent with your final ticket pack. Regrettably we cannot guarantee that the University will be able to accommodate any requirements received after the closing date for replies. 3

4 cathedral booze mark live Tickets As the recipient of an award you do not require a ticket. Tickets are per guest Maximum of two guaranteed guests per graduand. All tickets are non refundable, non transferable and not for resale. TICKET COST BREAKDOWN Cathedral and venue hire Celebratory drinks Marketing materials incl graduation programme Live streaming You must request celebratory drinks tickets on your reply form to be allowed admittance into Augustine Hall. Payment for guest tickets can be made by visiting our web page and clicking on the payment link: Additional tickets (subject to availability) You are guaranteed two guest tickets for your graduation ceremony and you may have the opportunity to purchase further guest tickets after the closing date for replies. Seating in the Cathedral is extremely limited which is why we can only allow two guests per graduand at this stage. Any additional tickets will be advertised at the first Friday after the closing date on the Graduation & Registry Events Office web page: These will be sold on a first come first served basis, only to those graduands who have adhered to the closing date deadline. Please note: Every guest attending the Cathedral Ceremony and Augustine Hall for the celebratory drinks must hold a ticket. This includes babies and children and we cannot permit them to sit on parents or relatives laps. This is to ensure that numbers stay within the health and safety guidelines as set by the Cathedral. During the ceremony, graduands will enter and be seated separately to guests. Live streaming There will be live coverage of the graduation ceremony streamed to St George s Centre; to access the live streaming log on to any digital device and use the following web address: A recording of the graduations will be held on the web for 30 days after the event. 4

5 Academic robes Robes are mandatory and graduands must wear CCCU robes appropriate to the level of qualification being received, even if the student already holds a higher qualification. Robes are hired via our suppliers Ede & Ravenscroft, who require 3 weeks notice of hire. Details for the ordering service are given on the following page. Any queries relating to the hire of academic dress should be directed to Ede & Ravenscroft as the University is not able to answer any questions regarding your robe hire. Graduation photography Graduands and their guests can have professional photos taken at photography studios set up around campus. Photography packages can be pre-ordered online via Ede & Ravenscroft. You can also pay on the day or order your photographs online at a later date. We also offer graduands and their guests the opportunity to have their photographs taken prior to the day of graduation so that you can avoid queues for photography on the day. This service also enables graduands unable to attend the actual graduation to still have professional photographs taken. The official graduation photographer will be available: Saturday 5 September :00 14:00 Sunday 6 September :00 14:00 Saturday 16 January :00 14:00 Sunday 17 January :00 14:00 If you wish to attend you are required to book a date and time slot by ing registry.events@canterbury.ac.uk General information International graduands (immigration and visas) If you are an international graduand and need to apply for a visa to attend your graduation, you may need to either switch to a different immigration category (if permitted), or return to the UK with fresh Entry Clearance as a visitor. Your reply form serves as proof of your invitation to graduate. Travel and parking We cannot provide parking on the University campus or at the Cathedral, however there are a number of pay and display car parks within walking distance and Park & Ride schemes available. We strongly advise that no travel or accommodation arrangements are made prior to receiving your final ticket pack. Name pronunciation check Please be aware that the Graduation Team may contact you prior to the event if the Dean who will be reading your name at the graduation ceremony would like clarification of how to pronounce your name. 5

Our hand crafted certificate, matching photograph and combination frames are available in a range of classic or contemporary finishes and are produced from solid wood sourced from managed forests. Frames incorporate an elegant mount displaying the name of your institution and crest or logo. They are produced from ph neutral card to protect your certificate from discolouration. We will mail your frames direct to your home. Please note: all frames are supplied with acrylic glass for safety reasons. Frames and mounts may vary slightly from those pictured. Having your photographs taken To enable you to spend more time with your family and friends after the ceremony, our studios are open as soon as the gowns are available so that you can have your portrait taken early (scrolls are provided for this purpose). Photographic suggestions Glasses: we would suggest that you consider not wearing glasses for your portrait as they tend to cause reflections in the photograph. If you are in doubt please consult your photographer. Appearance: please note that you are responsible for your own appearance please check your hair and attire before having your portrait taken. We provide mirrors for you to use. What to wear For men, a dark single-breasted suit or jacket, together with a shirt and tie always looks good. Ladies will find that a front buttoned blouse or some means of securing the hood in place, such as a brooch, is always helpful. Payment Pre-order today via our website to receive exclusive online savings. Book online at to ensure a prompt service. Alternatively, you can order and pay at the sales desk on your graduation day, prior to being photographed. However, prices will be higher than pre-ordering. We recommend that to save time on graduation day you pre-order your photographs at least 10 days before ceremonies at your institution commence. You will be sent an acknowledgement card of your pre-paid order. Please bring this with you on your graduation day.
