Early Bird Conference Registration Conference Registration will be held on Monday, August 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., as well as on Tuesday, August 19th from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 20th from 7:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Yoga Will be held on Tuesday Morning at 7:00 am for those of you who are early risers. Expanded Health & Enrichment Fair This year, the Health & Enrichment Fair will be held from 11:30 am to 4:00 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The Fair will be located in the Eagle Ballroom across the road from the main conference center. Continuous transportation will begin at 11:30 am and will leave from the covered main entrance of the hotel and conference center. Don t forget to visit the Fair! Page 3

The Fair provides health screening, wellness information, massage, haircuts, personal care, opportunities for productive aging and more! Brown, LBS, CDP Training & Resource Manager Social Worker Home Instead Network Thinking Again: Exploring Your Own Aging Ms. Brown will discuss how long established ideas about what old age is going to look like may not be accurate. We may have to plan for things to look differently as time passes. This is an opportunity to explore and consider how you feel about your own aging and what role dementia may play in that future. Come and prepare for your aging and that of your loved ones. Continuing Education Units Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are pending approval for nursing home administrators, activity directors, and social workers. 5 Lunch on Your Own On Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20, the conference schedule includes 90 minute lunch breaks. The breaks provide time to purchase lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants or food venues. Entertainment will be provided in the ballrooms during lunch; bring your lunch and enjoy the entertainment. GIFT CARDS Isleta Resort & Casino Gift Cards may be purchased directly from the hotel. Open 5 p.m. to 12 p.m. Tips for Enjoying the Conference What to Wear Wear comfortable, business casual clothes, and comfortable walking shoes the conference facilities are expansive. Meeting rooms may be cool; we suggest dressing in layers and bringing a sweater or jacket. Cell Phone Etiquette Please silence your cell phones or put them on vibrate and only answer calls once you have left a room. If your phone does not have a silent feature, please turn it off and check messages so as to not interrupt others. If you are on call, we ask that you sit in an aisle seat near the back and exit the room before answering a call. Page 5

7 Registration Information Everyone attending the Conference, including partners and presenters, must register. COSTS Pre-Registered Full Conference Pre-Registered One Day On-Site Full Conference Registration fees only include the cost of attending the Conference. Lunches and lodging are additional. You are welcome to attend the Conference without staying at Isleta Resort & Casino. Registration Procedures Everyone attending the Conference must complete a separate registration form If registering for a group or couple, please complete a form for each person. Group Registrations will be processed for groups of 10 or more persons Separate registration forms must be completed for each member of a group. Registration materials for groups of 10 or more will be packaged as a group and available for pickup at the group pre registration area. Registration materials for individuals in smaller groups will be available for pickup at the general pre registration area, by individual name. You can pre register until Monday, August 4th, or you can register on site August 18th, 19th or 20th You can pre register by submitting a conference registration form on or before August 4th. You have the option of registering at the Conference; an additional $10.00 fee will apply for on site registration. Registration forms must be accompanied by full payment Payment may be made by check, money order, or purchase order, made payable to the NM Conference on Aging. Credit cards cannot be accepted. Conference registration forms will not be processed without full payment or special arrangements made with the approval of Andrea Allen ( ). Everyone must check in at the Conference Registration Desk upon arrival Please check in and pick up a name tag, program and tote bag from the Conference Registration Desk before joining Conference activities. 9 Travel Information Isleta Resort & Casino Directions From the North: Take I 25 until you reach Exit 215 (which is the exit onto Broadway SE and NE). Select the left lane as you loop onto Broadway SE. Two stoplights later, will arrive at the Isleta Resort & Casino. From the South: Take I 25 until you see the sign for the hotel which is Exit 215. Immediately exit and veer to the right onto State Road 47. Two stoplights later, you will arrive at the Isleta Resort & Casino. From the East or West: Take I 40 to the I 25 Interchange Exit 159 B. You will now be going south. Proceed on I 25 until you reach Exit 215 which is the exit onto Broadway SE and NE. Select the left lane as you loop onto Broadway SE. Two stoplights later you will arrive at the Isleta Resort & Casino. Parking Parking, including RV parking, is available at the Isleta Resort & Casino. Accessible parking is available. Optional RV parking is available at the Isleta Lakes and Recreation Center on the Isleta Pueblo Indian Reservation.
