1 Introduction If you are eligible for benefits as a member covered by SPORS or VaLORS or a political subdivision employee eligible for enhanced benefits, you should understand that if you terminate employment, do not take a refund, and are hired into another position, your benefits could change. You may refer to the Frequently Asked Questions about Hazardous Duty Benefits pdf icon100kb for more information. VaLORS on or after July 1, 2001 VaLORS prior to July 1, or 2 or VaLORS Members 2.0% on all No and If the employee No elected the 2.0% 2001, then 2.0% on all and OR If the employee did not elect the 2.0% 2001, then 1.7% on all or a membership date prior to July 1, 1974 age 65 at the time of retirement* Note: If a VaLORS employee was in a VaLORS position on or before July 1, 2001 and did not elect the 2% the election period, the employee is eligible for the supplement after attaining 20 years of.
