2 Graduation requirements are listed on this website, but for further information, go to Scholarships The Guidance Department will keep a comprehensive file cabinet of scholarships which will be organized by due date month. Please feel free to come to the Guidance department to get scholarship applications and for assistance filling these applications out. In addition, Seniors will be asked to fill out a senior survey which will help the scholarship counselor identify students who qualify or may meet criteria for specific scholarships that become available. For more information on scholarships, please contact your guidance counselor. Financial Aid KHS is proud to host monthly financial aid workshops starting in November. The dates of these workshops will be advertised in the guidance department, on the website, and through the guidogram and Senior class teachers. These are very informative sessions which will help you through the FAFSA application process and with understanding the ABC s of financial aid and scholarships! Financial Aid information Sessions:

3 November 17 th, December 6 th, January 12 th at 6:00 Financial Aid Hands On Sessions: January 26 th, February 23 rd, March 22 nd in room 102 College and Recruiter visits Throughout the year, college representatives will be coming to KHS. These visits allow students to get more in depth information about colleges and to ask questions of the representatives while they are here. College visits will be posted in the guidance office and will be advertised through monthly guidograms. ** If you are going to actually visit a college campus, district policy allows for ONE excused college visit day each year. Students must come to the Guidance office at least two days prior to their scheduled college visit in order to pick up the new college visit form. This form must be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the guidance office for the counselor s signature prior to the college visit. The form must be signed by the college representative with a business card attached or an official seal. The college visit form is then

Ask you counselor for assistance! Guidance News Dates of upcoming events can be found in the guidance center, in the guidogram and on our website! When can you use the Guidance Office? Students are encouraged to come to the Guidance Center before school, after school or during their lunch period. Counselors will see students during class periods only if they have a pass from the teacher. If you need an appt. to see your counselor, please fill out a request form with the guidance secretary and your counselor will call you down. If the situation is a personal crisis or a situation that needs immediate attention, the students needs to indicate this to the secretary. Guidance Resources Students wanting to attend presentations by college representatives or recruiters, sign up rosters will be located in the guidance center for your convenience. SAT/ACT, TEA, FAFSA, Apply Texas applications will be available in the Guidance Center.
