Section 1 General Description Overview of Output Manager Enterprise Output Manager (formerly called DEPCON) is a comprehensive output-management solution for mixed-platform networks. Running on a Windows operating system, Output Manager automatically processes and routes print files and other application output files from any supported platform to any supported output destination. Automated processing is based on the file name, size, or other file characteristics you specify. In addition, Output Manager lets you take advantage of a variety of delivery mechanisms, such as , Web, CD/DVD, and fax. With each of these delivery methods, Output Manager can reformat text documents and data into a customized, modern appearance. The primary benefits of Output Manager are Operational cost savings Improved operational discipline Document modernization Remote administration General Features The Output Manager solution runs on a Microsoft Windows system to deliver information where you need it, when you need it, and in a format you can use. Output Manager can process output files from a variety of systems, such as Unisys ClearPath and ES7000, IBM, Windows, Sun Microsystems, HP, UNIX, and Linux systems. With its standards-based open architecture, you can unfreeze application output files produced by various vendors, such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Unisys, or by customer-written application programs, such as COBOL, and other legacy applications. Output Manager can automatically customize and send these output files to the destination of your choice: a Windows workstation or server, file server, mainframe, system (SMTP or a MAPI compliant client), fax, CD/DVD, XML file, HTML file, printer, Web site, FTP server, HTTP server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (using HTTP PUT method), PDF file, XPS file, customer-written program, or software application

This package provides all of the benefits of standards-based solutions. The open environment lets users easily and automatically access, distribute, and manipulate information in ways that maximize productivity and cost savings. The menu-driven tools provided with the Output Manager client application let you monitor, edit, modernize, and consolidate application output from a Unisys ClearPath system or any other major system connected to your computing environment. Output Manager accommodates both distributed and centralized print and data delivery needs. You can customize and distribute a single print file to multiple locations using any combination of delivery methods. For example, you can send tailored messages and attachments to users, route customized invoices to a remote department s LAN directory, create indexed files to be shared among users, send individualized facsimiles to clients, post the file to a Web site, and transfer portions of a master report to various departmental printers. With Output Manager, you distribute information directly to users from low-cost distribution points. The Output Manager package is an integrated solution with versatility and flexibility of results. Implementing a few features results in substantial cost savings and productivity gains. The Output Manager data distribution and reporting solution is the leading, state-of-the-art technology in the industry. A United States Patent (Patent 5,559,933) was issued to Unisys Corporation for the Output Manager system and method for transferring and printing files originating on mainframe computer systems, workstations, or personal computers connected within a heterogeneous computer network Output Manager runs on the following Windows operating systems: Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows Server 2008 Windows Server 2003 Windows 7 (Enterprise, Professional, and Ultimate Editions) Windows Vista (Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions) Windows XP Professional Output Manager host agent software runs on Unisys systems (Unisys ClearPath, MCP, and OS 2200 Series systems) and manages system output from those systems. Terminology Used in This Document Output Manager can run on either a Windows workstation or a Windows server. The term "Output Manager server" is sometimes used to identify a Windows system running the Output Manager software

Output Manager Environment The following figure illustrates the Output Manager environment

One of the key features of Output Manager is its ability to print and process files automatically, based on the name, size, or other characteristics of the incoming files. Output Manager accepts files from Windows workstations and servers IBM mainframes UNIX, Linux, IBM, and other systems using HTTP or LPD protocol ClearPath MCP and ClearPath OS 2200 systems running the Output Manager host agent software Unisys ES7000 servers Directories that the Output Manager server is set up to monitor The following figure shows how Output Manager can process incoming print files, resulting in the creation of various types of jobs. Incoming files from various platforms Output Manager File Mask Output Manager file group (maintains file retention information and other information in the File Information Database) Print Attribute Backup Attribute Custom Job Attribute Attribute and so on Print jobs to specified printers (local and networked) Backup jobs to any local or network storage device Custom jobs to export reports for optical storage systems jobs to send reports to various people How Output Manager Processes Incoming Files

New Output Manager Design Releases prior to Output Manager 7.0 provided automated operations and a user interface in a single Windows application. The tight coupling between these types of operations required the user interface to always be active when the automated operations were being used. It was not possible to exit the user interface or log off the computer without terminating the automated operations. Leaving the user interface active was a security risk since it exposed the application to unauthorized users. Beginning with Output Manager Release 7.0, a Windows service provides automated operations and remote administration, and the Output Manager client application provides the user interface. The new design provides improved security, more flexible administration, support of multiple and simultaneous client applications, and other enhancements. The Output Manager client application can access the service from anywhere in a Windows-based network, allowing authorized users to remotely administer the service. Printers Supported Output Manager supports a large variety of printers, from small desktop printers to high-volume high-speed printers, including the following: Network-connected printers Printers defined in Windows Printers connected to UNIX/Linux and other systems using LPD or Raw TCP protocol For More Information For more information about Output Manager, contact your Unisys account representative or, for a complete overview of Output Manager features and capabilities, refer to the Enterprise Output Manager Capabilities Overview ( ) available on the Unisys ecommunity portal and coming soon to Unisys.com. See Section 7 of this document for information about obtaining paper or online versions of Output Manager documentation. Of particular interest is Section 8, which explains how you can move up to this release with significant cost savings by taking advantage of subscription pricing

Output Manager can PDF files as attachments, send PDF files to a fax server for faxing, or place them in a directory for any other purpose. In addition, using the optional Web Assistant feature, Output Manager can post PDF files on Web sites for viewing. Output Manager can also create files that conform to the XML Paper Specification (XPS). XPS is another format that can be used to archive or publish content electronically. Output Manager can generate XPS files by printing to the Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer. Output Manager can then use the XPS files similar to using PDF files, with or the Web Assistant

Web Assistant Requirements The Web Assistant works with the Enterprise Output Manager to post output files to a Web site so that end users on the Internet or Intranet can view the file using a Web browser. The posted files originate from any standard source, such as a mainframe or a print queue. Posted files are typically in PDF format, but other file types are supported as well, such as TXT and HTML. In addition, an accompanying information file (.inf) provides characteristics that can be used for file searching. Web Assistant requires the following supporting software for posting files to the Web and administering Web Assistant: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7 (Enterprise, Professional, and Ultimate Editions), Windows Vista (Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions) or Windows XP Professional. 15 Section 3 Migration Considerations Release Formats Output Manager Release 9.0 is delivered on a product CD. The CD you order contains one of three Output Manager editions-----enterprise, Department, or Professional. These are ordered separately. See Section 8 for ordering information. The ClearPath Integrated Operating Environment (IOE) includes a single-user license of the Output Manager Department Edition on CD-ROM. The product CD may be installed as a new installation or as an upgrade to any previous Output Manager release. Interoperability of ClearPath Host Versions Output Manager Release 9.0 ClearPath host versions (MCP or OS 2200) can send files to pre-9.0 Windows versions; likewise, pre-9.0 host versions can send files to release 9.0 Windows versions. This is important because it gives you the option to migrate one side at a time. Migration/Compatibility Issues to Consider Before Installing the Service If you have a prior level of the Output Manager service (level 7.0 or greater) installed, installation of the Output Manager service results in an upgrade of that prior installation. You cannot install a second copy of the Output Manager service on your computer as you could do with Output Manager releases prior to 7.0, which were not installed as a service. The Output Manager Release 9.0 client application does not upgrade the Release 8.0 or 8.1 client application. The Output Manager Release 9.0 client is installed as a separate application on your computer

In addition, when migrating from an Output Manager release prior to level 7.0, you must address any of the following migration issues that are applicable to your system before installing the Output Manager service. The issues are detailed in the Output Manager installation information provided in the online help system. You should allow ample time to convert an existing configuration. If your site needs assistance in performing migration tasks, professional services are available (see Section 6 for details). 17 Section 4 Release Functionality This section describes the features added in Release 9.0, as well as features that were added in Releases 8.1, 8.0, 7.1 and 7.0. Features Added in This Release Enterprise Output Manager Release 9.0 includes the following new features and changes: Data Dependent Attribute (DDA) Charting feature The ability to generate charts is added to the Output Manager s DDA feature and is available for any output generated by a Print Job using the Windows Driver. The following two new DDA commands are added: Data Table --- to define the Chart Data Draw Chart --- to select the Chart template and draw the Chart The following key features are supported: 35 distinct chart types, including the common Area, Bar, Column, Line, Pie, and Point chart types. 3D support for most Chart types. Support for multiple Chart areas in one Chart. This feature comes along with the Chart Designer, which is an independent menu driven executable. It is used to develop, customize, and save various types of chart templates. Secure file transfer This feature provides the ability to perform encrypted (signed) data transfer using Raw TCP, LPR/LPD, and Output Manager protocols. A separate Certificate Signing Request (CSR) tool is provided to generate CSR messages which is a public key used to obtain Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate from a Certificate Authority (CA)

Transfer jobs using LPR/LPD protocol The transfer job functionality is enhanced using the LPR/LPD protocol to send customized data to the destination printer. You can now specify Job name, Job Classification, User Identification, and LPR Print Command as per RFC 1179 to perform a transfer job using LPR/LPD protocol. Stage output files in a temporary folder In Print Job, while printing to a file, Output files can be created or staged in a temporary folder. Users can select the temporary folder to create or stage an output file before moving the file to the destination output folder. Scale metafile to page size This feature provides an option to automatically scale Metafile to page size and ignore the margins defined on the Hardware tab of the Print Attribute. This feature eliminates the need for using a DDA to place the print stream data there by making it a lot easier for the users to use Metafile forms. Extend usage of Directory Alias Directory Alias can now be used for the following: Backup directory in Backup attributes Application to start property in Custom Job Attributes Directory Path property in Directory Monitors Directory Monitor enhancements The Directory Monitor feature can now perform the following: Identify and process zero length files Monitor multiple user-defined file types (*.txt, *.pdf, and so on) instead of monitoring all files. Logging enhancements The logging feature is enhanced to perform the following: Log the change in paper type. You can now view the log details if you change paper type of printer using the Output Manager print control or using Change Printer Paper Type. Log the unique File Name. You can now view the log details if you transfer files using FTP method as Upload file with a unique file name. Log the restore file details in Backup File management. You can now view the log details if you restore file using Backup File Management window

Expand the use of Print Attribute s Output file naming rule This feature allows the Output file naming rule of the Print Attribute to be used for Custom printers. Print jobs that print to Custom printers can now specify the name and location of the generated output file. This allows a more meaningful file name to be created and can eliminate subsequent renaming operations in a document workflow. Copy File Properties and Export File/Job Management Window This feature includes the following enhancements: Ability to copy all or selected fields and their values in the File Properties form to the Clipboard, or to either export or write the field or values to a selected file as text. Ability to export or write the displayed file and job fields in the file and job management windows to a selected file as text

Features Added in Output Manager Release 8.1 Enterprise Output Manager Release 8.1 includes the following new features and changes: Secure SMTP This feature provides the ability to send encrypted and digitally signed . Receive using IMAP This feature provides the ability to receive , including encrypted and digitally signed messages. Process HTTP responses from Transfer Jobs This feature provides the ability to process HTTP responses returned from transfer jobs. Create Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) Output Files This feature provides the ability to create multi-frame TIFF files either using a Print Job or a Transform Job. Allow File Group Hold Directory Configuration using Directory Alias This feature provides the ability to configure the file group hold directory using a directory alias. This helps simplify the configuration. Improve scheduling of Custom Jobs This feature provides the ability to monitor the result of custom processes. It allows improved notification if the custom job process fails. It also limits the number of custom jobs that are active at one time to save the system resources

Features Added in Output Manager Release 8.0 Enterprise Output Manager Release 8.0 includes the following new features and changes: Native XML processing XML input files can now be processed directly through transform jobs. The XML file can be transformed into an output format of PDF, HTML, XML, or Text and the transformed file can be further processed by another Output Manager job, such as an job. If the input file is not XML, it can be converted to XML by defining specific conversion rules. Send through HTTP or FTP Transfer jobs can use the HTTP or FTP protocols to send data to another host/location. These transfers can be secured using SSL. Receive through HTTP Data can now be received through the HTTP protocol. New USPS Barcode Support for printing the United States Postal Service (USPS) Intelligent Mail Barcode has been added. Overwrite generated files The print-to-file operation can be configured to overwrite existing files. This is useful when replacing PDF files in fixed locations, such as Web sites. New DDA commands Data Dependent Attributes (DDA) is the feature that enables modernization of output documents. New Else If and Else commands have been added to make DDA easier to use. Multiple attachments jobs can now have multiple file attachments. These can be generated through the traditional jobs or through the new XML processing, in which the attachment data can be defined in an XML file. IPv6 The OS 2200 host component and the Windows component are now IPv6 compliant. IP addresses used in the Output Manager configuration can be in IPv6 format. Improved SMTP configuration An alternate SMTP server can be configured for redundancy. Also, the user interface to configure SMTP servers has been improved and easier to use. Delete user files The File Expiration Search object has been extended to expire (delete) any file based upon the file s creation or last modified date or time

Remote client control Privileged users can view and disconnect clients that are connected to the Output Manager server. This allows administrators to know who is currently using the Output Manager server. New security permission A new security permission is added that controls who can view and modify the Security Roles. This is valuable for customers who have security personnel, who control access to resources, such as Output Manager, but do not have permission to change the Output Manager configuration. User Tags User Tags are properties that are extracted from an incoming file that are then used in the File Mask process to create jobs for the file. User Tag processing is improved to allow tags to be specified using an <esc> sequence and allow them to be ignored in a print job without requiring DDA. Printer States The lock state of printers can now be retained across the restarting of the Output Manager service. Previously, the state would revert to a defined state

Features Added in Output Manager Release 7.1 Enterprise Output Manager Release 7.1 includes the following new features and changes: Threshold Monitoring The Threshold Monitoring feature allows you to generate an alert and/or a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap when thresholds are exceeded or fall outside a specified range. The SNMP traps, which were available in previous releases of Output Manager, have been rewritten in this release to differentiate between those that occur when a threshold has been exceeded or falls outside a specified range and those that occur when the condition has corrected itself. Also, you can now use the Configuration Explorer to enable the Threshold Monitoring feature, to specify specific thresholds, and to indicate whether to generate an alert or an SNMP trap. Message Queuing Output Manager can now receive data using Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) technology. Change fonts within a word-wrapped area You can now print data to a word-wrapped area with font changes. Web Assistant database management If your site uses the Enterprise Output Manager Web Assistant product, you will no longer use the Database Manager or MSDE because database functions are in SQL Server 2005 Express Edition or SQL. Avoid transfer of empty files A new "Skip transfer if file is empty" property allows you to avoid problems associated with transferring empty files. Create alerts from COM applications Now COM applications can report errors as alerts (rather than through pop-up messages or events). This allows Custom Job applications to be more easily designed as noninteractive jobs. Visible indicator of job scheduling suspended and file receiving suspended Now, when some or all job scheduling or file receiving has been suspended, the toolbar images change to reflect this. Specify display fonts for client windows Using a new Display Fonts menu command, you can now specify the font type to be used for each Management window, as well as the property pane of the Configuration Explorer window and the Print Preview window (using Text mode)

Support for files in different character sets Output Manager can now receive and process files in different character sets (in particular, character sets using multibyte characters). You take advantage of this capability by specifying a code page using new properties in the File Mask, Print Attribute, and Coded Character Set configurations, as well as when modifying file settings and creating jobs. Support for traditional Chinese character sets Output Manager now supports traditional Chinese character set output for the Taiwanese market for files originating on the MCP system and sent to the Output Manager software running on Windows. Class Library for Enterprise Output Manager You can now write your own custom.net 2.0 programs to Create print, transfer, , backup, and custom jobs Create custom alerts Manage the Output Manager service options Manipulate the Output Manager configuration Read the Output Manager log files Demo configurations New demo configuration files have been included. DDA Designer CD There are now two ways to purchase the DDA Designer: As part of the DDA Designer and Web Assistant package Separately, through a new separately-priced DDA Designer CD You can now purchase the DDA Designer CD separately at a reduced price from the full DDA Designer and Web Assistant package. Sentinel Alert Service (SAS) version A SAS stability upgrade is provided

Features Added in Output Manager Release 7.0 The 7.0 release of Enterprise Output Manager provides a completely modernized product. Following are the key features and benefits of the redesigned Enterprise Output Manager, including new capabilities and ease-of-use features added to the user interface to simplify and enhance Output Manager administration and operations: Automated operations and remote administration handled through a Windows service. The new design provides improved security, more flexible administration, support of multiple and simultaneous client applications, and other enhancements. The Output Manager client application can access the service from anywhere in a Windows-based network, allowing authorized users to remotely administer the service. Enhanced security Role-based security ensures that every request to the application is from a user who belongs to a role that permits the associated operation. For example, administrators can allow one set of users to start and stop printers, a different set of users to configure items such as Print Attributes, and perhaps another set of users to perform only a more limited set of operations. Increased scalability Output Manager now offers increased scalability with respect to managing more than 32,000 files, jobs, and automatically monitored directories. Other configured limits are increased, such as the transfer limit and the executing print job limit. There are no limits for the number of jobs allowed per file mask. Configuration Explorer Configuration Explorer is the new backbone of Output Manager administration. Its Windows Explorer-like interface lets administrators configure "Attributes" and other items that are necessary to allow Output Manager to receive files, print files, back up files, and so forth. You can easily select multiple items within or across entities and simultaneously modify common properties; helpful descriptions of configurable items are displayed onscreen. Import/Export Configuration capability The new Import/Export Configuration capability is provided through the Configuration Explorer interface. It consolidates the capabilities previously available through Import Configuration, Print Configuration, and Batch Configuration, and it adds some very useful enhancements. For example, rather than providing only import capabilities and only for certain configuration entities, the new Import/Export capability lets you import as well as export all items or selected items for any configuration entity. From an easy-to-use interface, the administrator can also select items to import or export. In addition to being able to import the Output Manager configuration file type (.CFG), the Import/Export capability also supports the import and export of XML files

Configuration error reporting If configuration errors are detected either when updating configuration properties or starting the service, an error report is displayed showing all the problems. If there is an error when the service starts, a message box is not displayed, but an alert is entered into SAS. Each message in the error report provides a hyperlink that you can click to easily fix the problem. Support of Unicode The entire Output Manager interface, such as configuration values and log files, supports Unicode. Improved performance Output Manager now offers improved performance with respect to receiving files and job processing. Directory Monitors (formerly called Auto Directories) Directory Monitors can now be triggered by file system events as well as the traditional periodic scan. Management windows enhancements The enhanced Management windows interface is easier for operators to use and offers additional capabilities. The current Management windows consist mostly of job management windows-----user interfaces that display information on jobs in progress (print, transfer, , and custom jobs), and resource management windows-----user interfaces that display information on managed resources (the file information database, available printers, backup files, and indexed files). The following enhancements provide better usability, flexibility, and functionality: A new Printer Management window, with behavior similar to other Management windows, such as the ability to select display fields, specify sort order, filter the displayed contents, and close the window. Separate windows for the Backup File Management and Indexed File Management (formerly combined as the Saved/Archived File Management window). Multiple management windows can be open simultaneously, allowing operators to more closely monitor activities. For instance, they can see a transfer activity in the Transfer Status window, printers start up in the Printer Management window, and the updated status messages in the Events window. The Management menu item in the main menu has been removed and replaced with menus tailored to each management window. The menu is accessible through a button on the Management window title bar as well as through a context menu. Alert Explorer The Alert Explorer window displays alerts that may require human intervention-----for instance, a printer needs a particular paper type, needs realignment, or is not functioning. Another example of an alert includes a notification that the Output Manager service has been started. With Alert Explorer, alerts are much easier to view and manage. Operators can respond to alerts by using various Alert Explorer functions

Logging enhancements With the new log and tracing mechanisms, users can determine the current Output Manager status, find any errors that may have occurred in their Output Manager client and/or server, and audit Output Manager actions that have occurred. In addition, the Log Viewing and Reporting tool is enhanced, and it is easier to write log analysis programs. Integrated Backup and Index File Expiration capability The Backup Manager utility has been replaced with a File Expiration Searches capability that is integrated into the Output Manager configuration, providing a means to automatically delete expired backup and indexed files without executing a separate utility; in addition, log entries for these files are written to the Output Manager log file, rather than to a separate log file. The overall result is easier maintenance, support, and improved reliability. SMTP interface Output Manager now supports the widely accepted Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) interface for sending . SMTP is the preferred alternative to using the MAPI interface. Output Manager will continue to support MAPI, however, through the Legacy Interface Assistant tool. Globalization of Output Manager Output Manager is a world-ready, globalized application that you can have translated to any culture. "Culture refers to a user s language (for example, English) optionally combined with that user s location (for example, United Kingdom). Improved Web Assistant performance The optional Web Assistant feature supports multithreading for improved performance. New keywords The following new keywords are available for keyword substitution: CHARGECODE, DIRECTORYMONITORNAME, FILENODEA, FILENODEB, JOBCLASS, JOBNAME, MAILORIGINATOR, MAILSUBJECT, MIXNUMBER, and NOTE PROJ ECT. Data Dependent Attribute (DDA) enhancements Through the Configuration Explorer, you can add, modify, and delete DDAs; you can also use drag and drop to reorder DDA items and DDA commands. Here are general changes to DDA commands: You can specify a from/to range whenever a variable can be used for a DDA command property, and all from/to settings can be either a variable or a number. "If" blocks can be collapsed in the tree view for easier viewing. In addition to supporting JPG, GIF, metafiles, and bitmap files, the Position Graphic command now supports PNG and TIF files. $DirectoryMonitorName and $MailSubject are new DDA system-defined variables

Every DDA item and command has a Comments property. Each item and command can also be enabled or disabled. New examples are provided that show a variety of techniques you can use to improve the look of your print data and how to manipulate print data. Example data files, source forms, Command Files, and DDA attributes are included. See the online help topics DDA Examples and Installing the DDA Demo CFG Files for more information. EasyR custom job The new EasyR capability of Enterprise Output Manager provides the ability to automatically create CDs/DVDs through the Output Manager EasyR custom job and the Rimage Corporation CD/DVD creation hardware. Toolbar enhancements The Output Manager toolbar is modified to include a button for the new Printer Management, Indexed File Management, and Backup Job Management windows. In addition, new buttons are added for easily creating jobs, suspending files, suspending job scheduling, and opening the new Configuration Explorer and Alert Explorer tools. The Lock and Unlock Configuration buttons are removed because the configuration lock concept no longer exists; instead, role- based security is provided. In addition, users can customize which groups of buttons are displayed. Online Help enhancements The online Help includes new multimedia demos that administrators and operators can view to quickly learn how to use new Output Manager capabilities, such as Configuration Explorer, Import/Export Configuration, Alert Explorer, and Management windows. To streamline Output Manager documentation and make information easier to access, the Output Manager Configuration and Operations Guide ( ), also called the "PC Book," has been discontinued and pertinent information has been merged to this Help system. New examples provided on the release CD The Tools subdirectory contains utilities, example source code, executable Custom Jobs, and scripts that you can integrate into your Output Manager environment

Section 5 Restrictions and Known Limitations You must use the same version for the Output Manager client and the service it accesses. For example, an Output Manager Release 9.0 client can access an Output Manager Release 9.0 service, but not an Output Manager Release 8.1 service. (Note that this compatibility issue applies to only the first two numbers in the version designation. That is, a client version of will work with a server version of 7.1.6, because they are both based on the 7.1 version.) Capabilities Discontinued in Release 7.0 The following paragraphs detail some Output Manager capabilities that are not supported by Output Manager Release 7.0 or later. These capabilities have been discontinued either because they cannot function in a Windows service (such as the Output Manager service), or because the technology is becoming outdated. This information is intended to assist you with your migration planning. NetBIOS Communication Path The NetBIOS communication path is only intended to communicate with A Series enterprise servers running the MCP operating system. Modern MCP operating systems can use TCP paths for communications. Any customers using a NetBIOS communication path should migrate it to a TCP path prior to installing the Output Manager service. BMC Printers The Output Manager Windows service does not support the BMC printer interface. The Data/Ware 2000 AT channel board (DW2000) that drives BMC printers is no longer manufactured. It plugs into an ISA AT bus, which is rarely available on modern PCs. Therefore, support for this type of printer interface has been discontinued

Novell Netware Interfaces The current Output Manager product receives files from Novell print queues and prints to Novell printers by using the Novell bindery emulation mode. This is an old Novell protocol, which has not been recommended for some time. These interfaces are not supported in the service. This means that the service is not able to receive files from Novell print queues. Files can still be printed to Novell printers by configuring them as a Windows printer. Any customer using a Novell printer definition should reconfigure that definition to be a Windows printer prior to the service delivery. The new service does not allow Output Manager to receive files from a Novell print queue. Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer Printer Adobe Systems does not support driving the PDF Writer printer from a service; therefore, the PDF Writer printer capability has been discontinued. Output Manager continues to support the Adobe Acrobat PDF Distiller Printer
