5 FASHION MARKETING Grade Placement: Course #: 0971 Prerequisite: Principles of Business, Marketing & Finance Fashion Marketing provides students with knowledge of various business functions in the fashion industry. Students in fashion marketing will gain a working knowledge of promotion, textiles, merchandising, mathematics, selling, visual merchandising and career opportunities. MARKETING DYNAMICS Grade Placement: Course #: 0974 Prerequisite: None Credit: 2-3 units offers knowledge and skills that help students to be proficient in one or more of the marketing functions. Students will integrate skills from academic subjects, information technology, interpersonal communication and management training to make responsible decisions. Students secure a job for the entire school year, which is evaluated by the classroom instructor and their work supervisor. Problem-solving skills, higher-level thinking, and work-application techniques are enhanced through this class format. Enrichment activities include special projects, guest speakers and field trips. Students get paid for their job and receive classroom credit. Students must be employed in a marketing, sales, or retail-related occupation at least 10 hours per week.
