4 Vision of a lightrail around Øresund Today, trains run several times an hour from Helsingor to Helsingborg via Copenhagen, Kastrup and Malmo On the Danish side, the train follows the coast and does not service commercial and residential areas west and south of Copenhagen Copenhagen regional development has since the 1940s been guided by "Finger Plan" with development along five axes from central Copenhagen. 8 Plan og traffic in Kongens Lyngby Kongens Lyngby is the largest commercial center in the Copenhagen region outside Copenhagen City With Lyngby Stor Center, Magasin and a vibrant Main street, Lyngby combines the advantages of the city mall and smaller shops in a busy, cosy city street The light rail will pass straight through Lyngby on the way to Denmarks Technical University - DTU, with 9,000 students and 5,000 employees At the same time there is pressure on traffic, especially during weekends Traffic through the main street is deliberately mixed so that cars are forced to respect cyclists and pedestrians.
