As a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, CGTC offers nearly 200 associate degree, diploma, and certificate options to over 12,000 students annually. CGTC s service area includes Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Dooly, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, and Twiggs counties in Georgia. However, the College serves students from all over the state, nation, and world through traditional on-site and distance education academic program, study abroad opportunities, adult education programs, continuing education, and customized business and industry services. The NEW Central Georgia Technical College is a result of the administrative consolidation of MISSION STATEMENT Central Georgia Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, provides traditional and distance learning educational programs and services. Through credit instruction, adult education, and customized business and industry workforce training, the College contributes to economic and workforce development within its eleven-county service area and throughout the state of Georgia. Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins and Central Georgia Technical College in Macon and Milledgeville in July The College offers accessible, affordable, and attainable options for students in Aerospace, Trade and Industry; Business and Computer Technologies; Health Sciences; and Public Safety and Professional Services occupational programs. 3 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE NJCAA/GCAA INFORMATION DR. IVAN H. ALLEN CGTC PRESIDENT Central Georgia Technical College is glad to welcome you as part of the family! Each year, the College serves more than 30,000 unique individuals from communities within our 11-county service area and from across the state of Georgia. CGTC has even expanded our reach to include international partners through contract training, economic development programs, and study abroad opportunities. With nearly two hundred academic programs, GED and test preparation, continuing education, and customized business and industry training, the College plays a vital role in preparing an educated workforce to support a healthy local economy. As a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, we guarantee our graduates are prepared to work in today s most advanced and demanding jobs. Founded in 1938 in Fresno, California, the purpose of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is to promote and foster junior college athletics on intersectional and national levels so that results will be consistent with the total educational program of its members. The NJCAA sanctions the following sports: Baseball (M), Basketball (M/W), Bowling (M/W), Cross Country (M/W), Football (M), Golf (M/W), Half Marathon (M/W), Ice Hockey (M), Indoor Track and Field (M/W), Lacrosse (M/W), Outdoor Track and Field (M/W), Soccer (M/W), Softball (W), Swimming and Diving (M/W), Tennis (M/W), Wrestling (M), and Volleyball (W). Members eligible to join the NJCAA consist of two year colleges and institutions accredited by the appropriate state and/or regional accrediting agency. The NJCAA has nationwide exposure and support with several national organizations--the United States Olympic Committee, American Association of Community and Junior Colleges, Women s Sports Foundation, USA Basketball, Track/Field, and Swimming. GEORGIA COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) is a collegiate athletic conference and is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) / Region XVII. The GCAA s 17members are comprised of four year colleges, two year community colleges and technical colleges. GCAA members compete in 16 sports for both men and women. The GCAA s mission is to promote the education and development of college students, especially junior college students, through intercollegiate athletic competition. GCAA s members share the common commitment to high standards and the principle that competitive athletic activities are an important part of education. GCAA and its members believe that student growth and excellence may be achieved through athletic competition because it promotes the qualities of hard work, physical fitness, team play, good sportsmanship, self-discipline and high moral standards. 5 facilities facilities TITANS ARENA MACON, GA Formerly known as The Historic Ballard-Hudson School, Titans Arena opened in fall 2013 and is home to the CGTC Titans men s and women s basketball teams. In addition to hosting the Titans home basketball games, Titans Arena includes several classrooms that are used by the CGTC Adult Education division. In 2016, the facility will also be home to the William S. Hutchings College & Career Academy. The Titans Wellness center is located on the CGTC Macon campus and is open to all CGTC student-athletes, students, and employees. 8 LARRY WALKER ARENA WARNER ROBINS, GA Named in honor of former Georgia legislator Lawrence C. Larry Walker, Jr. in January 2015, the facility originally opened in fall The Walker Building is also home to the CGTC Titans men s and women s basketball games. In addition to housing Larry Walker Arena, the Walker Building hosts Criminal Justice and General Education courses. The building includes a well-equipped fitness center and workout room open to all CGTC student-athletes, students, and employees. 9

6 Athletics Staff athletics staff CGTC ATHLETICS Media guide (NACDA), the National Alliance of Two Year Collegiate Dr. Bruce Foster, Executive Director of Campus Life Antonio Harris, Cross Country/ Head Coach Dr. Bruce Foster was named the Executive Director of Campus Life for Central Georgia Technical College in November In this position, he is responsible for all aspects of campus activities, including student organizations and clubs and intercollegiate sports. Prior to this appointment, Foster worked as the Director of Student Support Services managing the CARE Center, the Testing Center, as well as special populations services and campus life. In this position, he was instrumental in starting the Athletics program for the former Middle Georgia Technical College. MGTC s Titans and Lady Titans basketball teams first competed at the club level and then moved to the Technical College System of Georgia Athletic Association. In 2010, the Titans joined the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as a Division III team. Dr. Foster received a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Mercer University and his master s degree in Education from Columbus State University. In 2011, he earned his Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. He is married to Jacqueline Evette Foster and they have three children, Breanna, Brudarius, and Bruce, Jr. Antonio Harris was named the head women s basketball coach in June 2015, after serving as the CGTC men s assistant basketball coach and the cross country head coach during the season. In his first year with the cross country program, Harris led runners Danny Shaw and Eddie Stafford to first and third place finishes, respectively, in the inaugural CGTC Titans Invitational. Both runners earned Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) all-conference recognition and the opportunity to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national competition. basketball program, Harris helped coach the team to an overall record and 8-10 conference record. Harris continued his coaching career at Miller Magnet School as the assistant football coach and defensive coordinator, associate girls basketball coach, and the assistant track coach. Since 2004, Harris has mentored the Girls in Motion basketball club and the Middle Georgia Monarchs girls basketball teams in Macon. A native of Macon, Harris attended Hampton University and Central Texas College.
