We ve had our heads down hard at work speeding up our algorithms and implementing some great new features in all our product lines. With the release of Sirovision 6, Fusion 8, Studio 5D Planner and the testing of revamped flagship product Studio, Easter has come early for our thousands of Datamine users! 2 STUDIO 5D PLANNER RELEASE GET THE JOB DONE FASTER! The latest release of Studio 5D Planner, is now available for download, bringing you a range of new features and speed enhancements. Dynamic Design Change Studio 5D Planner now has the advanced intelligence to work out which design changes require re-processing. When running through the Preparation menu, only designs that require updating will be used to generate walls, points, and solids. Speed Enhancements We understand how important speed and accuracy is to our customers so we have added various time saving enhancements to ensure users can complete their work in record time. To facilitate this, the duplicate point checking algorithm has been improved to provide substantial performance improvements to walls and point creation for all design types. Previously, the time taken was proportional to the number of points squared. Now it is proportional to the number of points. For 100 points it is now 100 times faster and for 1000 points it is now 1000 times faster. Users can expect a performance boost across all processes thanks to improved database synchronising routines. A new routine for creating derived wireframes significantly speeds up this process. 3 STUDIO 5D PLANNER RELEASE - CONTINUED EPS Enhancements Significant improvements have also been made to Enhance Production Scheduler (EPS), Datamine s scheduling solution which integrates directly with Studio 5D Planner. New EPS features included in this release are: 1. Stockpile management: you can now create stockpiles and plant destinations, and produce to and from these. 2. Templates for auto-assigning resources have been introduced. This allows filters to be used to assign resources to tasks. 3. An option to consider targets during levelling 4. A new Timeline view can be toggled on and off above the bar chart and gives overview of project duration and zoom status. 5. A new Schedule comparison tool allows you to do a side by side comparison of two schedules to highlight differences. 6. In-line editing now available for actuals. When actuals are tracked and displayed on the bar chart they can now be edited directly on the bar chart. 7. Project notes are now accessible in docking window that can be displayed at any time. 4 SIROVISION 6 DOWNLOAD IT NOW! Sirovision is a photogrammetric data acquisition tool developed by Datamine and the CSIRO. It generates highly accurate, scaled 3D images of rock faces in open pit and underground mines. Sirovision 6 introduces sophisticated polyhedral block analysis and the ability to map structures across multiple mosaics. As a result, geotechnical engineers now are better equipped to identify potential hazards with a higher degree of certainty and accuracy. All too often, potentially unstable features in excavations are analysed using fairly rudimentary spherical projection analysis, considering only orientation of structures. With Sirovision s high density 3D point clouds, structures can be mapped with high accuracy and the user can visualize the physical size, frequency and distribution of structures on scaled 3D surfaces. Sirovision 5.2 expanded this analysis to detect and map simple wedges daylighting on the rock face. Sirovision 6 takes this a significant step further by analysing complex structures, pore pressure grids, domain boundaries and other rock characteristics to automatically detect, not just wedges, but all kinds of unstable blocks on a rock wall. The user then has the ability to edit structure sizes and simulate resultant unstable features that may occur. PAGE 4

5 SIROVISION 6 CONTINUED Other new features in Version 6 include: Automated Ore Body Mapping Simply select a sample of ore body on a rock face and let the Automated Ore Body Mapping tool map all occurrences of the ore as well as outputting surface area data which can be used to estimate ore volume. Dip/Dip Direction Facet Shading The new 3D visualization tools highlight the dominant dip and dip directions on 3D rock surfaces. Improved Performance The new image, spatial data and colour depth resolution options enable users to reduce database storage requirements and use the latest 24+ megapixel cameras. The new Project Merge function enables multiple projects to be merged into a single large 3D image whilst maintaining the integrity of mapped structural data, allowing for large areas to be analysed using Sirovision s advanced geotechnical analysis tools. 6 INTRODUCING STUDIO EM April is set to be an action packed month with the expected release of our brand new product, Studio EM. Studio EM will replace Datamine product, Downhole Explorer and will be offered to new clients as well as existing customers through maintenance upgrades. Studio EM is a focussed product that is tailor made for exploration needs. Setting itself apart from other products in the geological exploration space, Studio EM will include point and string editing, wireframing, and basic block modelling and estimation functionality. Studio EM will also have a full set of plotting functionality for producing section plots, plan plots, logs and reports, as well as comprehensive 3D viewing and the ability to publish 3D PDF files. 8 FUSION 8 SET FOR RELEASE IN APRIL 2015 Available next month, Fusion8 is a comprehensive solution for geological data management. Fusion8 is loaded with a range of new features that increase efficiency, whilst providing a high level of transparency and auditability to ensure regulatory compliance. Thanks to a new cloud-hosted option in this latest release, users now have the choice to store their Fusion Central database on the cloud, eliminating the expense of on premise IT and database administration. This service enables users to focus fully on their drilling and sampling programs rather than IT system administration. Fusion8 introduces a new service layer that provides huge speed increases for Check In / Check Out operations. 9 TIME SAVER TIP: THE CREATE MODEL PROTOTYPE WIZARD Setting up block models can be done in multiple ways in Studio 3. Historical we ve either used the PROTOM process or the Create Model Prototype choice from the models menu item. For some time we have had access to a new version of the create model prototype Wizard that does more than just setting Model limits and block size. This new wizard makes it much easier to properly locate your model prototype in the right area. It even works for rotated prototypes. Set Up The top portion of the panel retains the normal fields necessary to set up a block model. As you change one field, other fields will automatically update. As you change cell size, the number of cells will change to fit the same extents. As you change the extents, the number of cells will change to fill the space. PAGE 9

10 TIME SAVER TIP CONTINUED... Setting the Model from Data You have two choices for how we can choose model limits from data. If you set from prototype, it will copy the existing model setting from the model selected. You can set the limits from loaded data. Select the objects that you want the new model prototype to encompass. Choose what margin/buffer you want around the object. Then select the method of model fitting you prefer. This works to create both rotated and orthogonal prototypes. Dynamic preview You can either preview now or turn on the dynamic preview. It gives you visual feedback to where the model space will be. Completion Specify an output model and the process is done. Hit OK and get on with your work. Writing to a macro There s another great thing about the new wizard. If you set a macro to record before using it, the PROTOM command used in the background will be captured. Then the creation of the prototype can be repeatable and scripted. It s a good timesaver.
