2 Page Two Co-Chaired the Learning Spaces Task Force charged with recommending renovations to the Mount s formal and informal teaching and learning spaces. Task Force members included representatives from faculty, students, registrar, student affairs, and instructional technology. Authored a successful grant to send a five person team to the 2006 Learning Spaces and Technology Workshop. The Task Force s three-year plan for renovations was completed in August Upon joining the Mount in 2003, a top priority was to eliminate the $309,000 annual deficit generated by the student notebook computer program. After engaging students, faculty, and staff, recommended that the Mount stop providing leased notebooks to students and begin requiring students to purchase notebooks. Other recommendations including restructuring the student technology fee and reorganizing Information Services and Support (ISS). A three year plan to phase-in the recommended changes was presented to and approved by President s Cabinet and the Board of Trustees. Project was completed on schedule in University of Dayton (UD), Dayton, Ohio UD is a comprehensive, research intensive, private institution with 11,200 students. Assistant CIO, UD Information Technologies ( ) Director, Administrative Computing & Telecommunications ( ) Led the administrative computing, data management, computer operations, IT help desk, and telecommunication service areas. Evaluated options for replacing disparate administrative application systems with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Led the development of a ten year pro-forma investment summary that compared the costs and benefits of implementing an integrated ERP solution with the costs and restrictions of supporting and enhancing the current disparate administrative systems. The additional net annual investment required to implement an integrated ERP solution was too great to warrant further pursuit at that time. Collaborated with Academic Computing and Enrollment Management to support UD s Learning Village initiative. Managed the extension of the campus voice, video, and data networks to 330 university-owned student houses that adjoin the central campus. Led vendor contract negotiations and directed the on-time implementation of this Wiring the Student Neighborhood project. This 18-month $8 million capital project was a major factor in UD earning Yahoo! s April 2000 ranking as the nation s 16 th most wired university and the top most wired Catholic university. Initiated and directed the university-wide Year 2000 (Y2K) Compliance Project Team. Quarterly progress reports were presented to the Board of Trustee s Audit Committee. Directed the project team through the testing of all mission critical systems and the successful hardware and software upgrade of all non-compliant systems. Represented UD with local and national media on Y2K related issues including a January 1, 2000 interview aired on local TV.

Three months after joining UD, was asked to take direct project management responsibility for a troubled financial system implementation project that included general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grant proposal generation and tracking modules. This project was over budget and 18 months past the original due date. Directed the project team in the creation of an open tasks list. Each of the more than 100 open tasks was then assigned to an individual or a team and scheduled for completion. The open task list was shared with the project s executive sponsors and used to track weekly progress. The system was successfully launched six months later.
