Date of production of specification January Date of programme review 2014/15 The MBA Further Education Management programme is a sectoral Type 3 career development programme as defined by the QAA (QAA 158/2.12-3) being fully aligned with the QAA Master s degrees (business and management) benchmark standards. 16. Educational aims of the programme The aim of the MBA programme in Further Education Management is to develop participants' knowledge, understanding, and capacity to critically appraise and systematically reflect on: business strategies for Further Education / Vocational Education providers the body of theory informing business practices relating to the procurement, provision and management of VET within commercial settings issues relating to the aligning of VET curricula to business needs the body of theory informing the field of vocational education and training (VET) relevant interpretative frameworks, in particular the philosophy, sociology, politics and history of vocational education and training and its management research in the field of vocational education and training the practice of managing vocational education and training within business environments in the light of knowledge and understanding gained during the programme. 17.
