1 Refer & Earn Program Overview: Attention All Best Buy Blue Shirts..The Business Channel Refer & Earn Program is a great way to get recognized for identifying business customers for Best Buy. Just ask the right qualifying questions and submit a qualified business lead to the Business Channel to earn Path to Excellence points. Not only will you earn points but you ll help build a continuous revenue and GM stream for your store. Refer & Earn Program Dates: This program will be ongoing and starts on February 3 rd How To Participate In The Refer & Earn Program- 3 Steps Step 1: Get Certified In order to earn Path To Excellence points, all employees must complete the following; Log on to the Learning Lounge site and get BBFB Certified. Even if you have been certified in the past, you still must complete the FY13 Business certification in order to earn points. Course ID: CRT12FB3000 Course: FY13 Business Certification Step 2: Refer, Submit, and Earn Best Buy Retail employees will earn Path To Excellence Points for all qualifying leads submitted through Business Customer Manager (BCM) or by dialing 09 on any Cisco phone in your store. Each qualifying lead will earn you 160 Path To Excellence points and the sky is the limit! Path To Excellence points will be awarded to the employee ID in which the lead was submitted under. No splitting leads will be granted. When a lead is submitted through BCM, the system captures the employee ID associated with the lead and will automatically allocate PTE points if the lead moves to a qualifying lead. If you choose to use the Dial 09 method, you must give the LQG member your employee ID before the call has ended in order to receive PTE points. Once a call has ended, we are not able to go back in and assign PTE points if an ID was not captured when the lead was initially submitted.

2 A lead can be disqualified in either of the following ways: o Three (3) unsuccessful attempts have been made by BBFB Leads Quality Group (LQG) to contact customer via phone or . o BBFB LQG has successfully contacted customer and they have expressed no interest. o Only the BBFB LQG or a BBFB Account Manager is able to qualify a lead; PTE points will not be awarded if this process is not followed. Employees will see earned Path To Excellence points in their employee bank accounts once the lead has been qualified. The process from submitting a lead until the lead is qualified may take up to 14 days; please be patient. Step 3 Keep Earning Points! Make sure to check the Path to Excellence site frequently to see how many points you ve earned! You will also receive notifications whenever Refer & Earn points are issued. Who is Eligible? All Best Buy Retail Employees that are eligible to earn PTE points are able to participate in the Refer & Earn Program.

Best Buy may choose to alter dates of the Refer & Earn Program without notice. Best Buy reserves the right to alter the number of PTE points awarded per qualified lead without notice. Prize winners must meet the eligibility requirements stated above and must be Best Buy employees in good standing as of date of prize award, subject to review by the Best Buy Human Resources Department. If a winner is ineligible or deemed not to be an employee in good standing by the Best Buy Human Resources Department, for any reason, such prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Prize winners may be required to complete, sign, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where lawful, Publicity Release within seven (7) days of notification. If documents are not returned on a timely basis, or if any prize notification or prize is returned as no deliverable, or if winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. 4 Resources: Questions To Help Identify Business Customers Is this for business or personal use? What do you do for a living? Do you make purchases on behalf of a business? Will this be installed in a business? Where is the product going to be used? Who is going to be using this product? Frequently Asked Questions around Lead Submissions How do I submit a lead for BBFB? Log into Learning Lounge and search: BCM Lead Entry and Reporting to get all the details, or dial 09 on any retail store phone. When do I send a lead? Stores can send a lead to BBFB when their business customers needs cannot be met in store either because they are looking for product beyond store inventory, they need bulk quantities or have a complex solution that the store cannot fulfill. What is the Leads Rating? How is it calculated? The Leads Rating will rate how much information is submitted with a lead. Each rating point coincides with different fields in the BCM Lead form. A bonus point is also given for great notes including the preferred contact information, who will answer the phone and more details on the solution. You need to fill in all fields in each section of the BCM Lead form to get the Lead Rating Point.

5 What is the follow-up on a lead? Once a lead is submitted by a store, it is sent to the Leads Quality Group (LQG). The LQG will call the customer within 24 hours typically within 3-4 hours to verify that the customer is still looking for a product or solution. It then gets turned over to an Account Manager (Field-Based or Phone-Based Sales Teams) depending on its complexity. The Account Manager will identify a solution and submit a proposal to the customer. Remember: Notes from these interactions will be updated in BCM so you can track the lead status. How do I know if my lead was qualified or disqualified and how can I get an update on the status? You can check the status of your leads or your store s leads by checking the Outbound Detail Report in BCM. Once you open each of the leads, it will be updated with notes from the Leads Quality Group and the Account Managers of interactions with the customer. What disqualifies a lead? A lead is disqualified for a couple of different reasons. If the Leads Quality Group (LQG) is not able to get in touch with the customer, the lead will be disqualified. LQG will attempt to contact them three times by all supplied phone numbers and addresses. Remember: A lead can also be disqualified if the customer has already made the purchase for what they were seeking. How is credit applied to my store? What is proximity credit? Stores receive credit for BBFB sales in two ways. First, stores receive credit for BBFB sales that result from leads sent in by the store. Second, BBFB awards credit to the store closest to the shipping address of any sales not tied to a lead and under $50K. Remember: This credit can be found on the Matrix Revenue Drilldown under Channel Revenue or on the store s Monthly P&L.

6 How do I find out who my inside and outside sales support team is? BBFB has listed of all the Field-Based and Phone-Based Account Managers, Sales Managers and Territory Leaders on the BBFB Wiki site. This list is compiled by territory and calls out the market they support. If you have questions about who your individual assigned Account Manager is, please contact your Territory Business Sales Manager or your Sales Manager and they can get that information to you. Will I earn points if I transfer a customer directly to the BBFB Leads Quality Group? Yes, if you follow these simple steps. If a Blue Shirt and/or MCSA answers the phone and identifies a potential business customer, the Blue Shirt should ask the customer to hold tight for 3-5 minutes while you contact BBFB. Please follow these simple steps to earn points: 1. Press TRANSFER on any Cisco IPT telephone in your store 2. Dial the 2 digit code for BBFB (09) 3. Stay on the line and have a quick private conversation with the LQG member (Customer will be on hold during this process for 2-3 minutes). a. Provide an overview of what the customer is looking to fulfill (Business name/contact information/products/services/etc.) b. Remember to relay your employee # to the LQG representative to ensure you receive your PTE points. 4.
