2 Our Learning Services team works in close partnership with our clients. We combine our expertise in instructional design, learning technologies and project management to analyse learner expectations, identify key performance requirements and drive behavioural change. The Challenge with Innovative Learning Recognising the Challenge The modern workplace is continuously evolving. There is less time between business technology refresh programmes, constant re-engineering of business processes, and an emergence of a You Tube and Facebook generation of employees. Keeping pace with these changes and a new generation which has grown up with technology is proving to be a growing challenge. This evolution creates many challenges for organisations, not least how to ensure the workforce has timely access to relevant knowledge to fulfil their roles. Furthermore, it is critical organisations leverage a return on investment for new business tools and technologies, and minimise the loss of productivity as their workforce transitions to new ways of working. At General Dynamics Information Technology we recognise that the learning landscape is changing as fast as the workplace in which it is delivered. Learners expect opportunities to master the new tools and technologies to improve their performance in real time. This poses a challenge for training. Traditional classroom learning is no longer necessarily the most efficient learning environment. The Generation Y workforce is plugged in; they have access to smartphones, tablets and expect the flexibility of learning on-demand at a pace that suits them. Our Learning Services team works in close partnership with our clients. We combine our expertise in instructional design, learning technologies and project management to analyse learner expectations, identify key performance requirements and drive behavioural change.
