Researchers found that exposure to or interaction with nature enhances creativity, attention and focus, and an overall sense of well-being. A childhood spent disengaged from nature has been associated with increased levels of anxiety, depression, and higher incidences of ADD/ADHD. We can promote children s emotional well-being and healing by providing playful and relationship-based connections to the natural world in and outside of the therapy room. This workshop will provide hands-on activities to help therapists bring the connection back through nurturing play in nature. 6 APT CEU awarded per day (Pending approval) Anne Stewart is the president of the Virginia Association for Play Therapy.
