2 The Buffalo TeraStations, linked to the Elbex video cameras, help to combat theft and malicious activity in one of the largest underground car parks in the region. A highly secure car park for a brand new shopping centre at the cutting edge of new consumer trends Buffalo Technology, Japanese manufacturer of storage devices,and wireless solutions for consumer and professional clients, was selected to provide professional Network Attached Storage (NAS) for the So Ouest shopping centre car park located in Levallois Perret. Open since October 2012, So Ouest is a unique combination of a boutique, leisure and supermarket shopping facilities in the heart of the Parisian metropolis. 100 boutiques in total and the largest car park in the region, with almost 2,500 spaces. The growing need to ensure the protection and security of goods and persons, added to the strong deterrent effect of video protection, led So Ouest to adopt nextgeneration video surveillance systems and professional storage. The main objective of this equipment is to quickly and effectively detect any malicious activity in order to intervene as quickly as possible or to have evidence of such action. 2

In order to store and back-up all of the data recorded in the car park, management opted for the solutions offered by the TeraStation from Buffalo - 12 x TeraStation Rack, 8 TB each. 4 NAS compatibility with video protection solutions The solution s technical infrastructure is built around a central surveillance station for processing and numerical archiving of data. The size of this central station is designed to ensure supervision of the entire car park. As for security, this NAS includes RAID redundancy 0, 1, 5 and 10 in order to ensure data backup. 5 A system that has proven successful The deployment and use of the products has been quick, approximately two days were enough for complete installation of the site. The daily users appreciate the system s ease of use, which allows them to save time. The simple and immediate use has been greatly appreciated by all. In addition, the time taken to access images of interest has been shortened, enabling greater productivity. The car park has recorded several malicious acts, detected thanks to this new system. Security is a major challenge for our now-aday life and we have been delighted to be able to participate in this advanced solution for maximum onsite security.
