3 Mobile Medical Clinic Action For Rural Rejuvenation Isha Foundation Project Primary objective: Improve the overall health and quality of life of the rural poor. Project launched in Mobile trucks active: 20 Number of villages served: 1982 Number of patients treated: 1,879,517 Project aims to benefit 70 million rural people in 54,000 villages To be implemented over a period of 15 years.

4 Action For Rural Rejuvenation (ARR) Free Mobile Medical Clinic Village Games Promote strategies for sustainable use and management of the land. Herbal Gardening Computer Center & Training Library Gymnasium Isha Foundation has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

5 Project Green Hands An ecological initiative to prevent and reverse environmental degradation and enable sustainable living. Project aims to create 10% additional green cover in Tamil Nadu where presently green cover is only % Drawing on large scale people s participation PGH intends to plant 114 million trees. Project seeks to inspire people around the world to keep planet livable for future generations.

6 Project Green Hands Results & Goals Results 2005: 25,000 seedlings planted in Tsunami affected villages 2006: Guinness World Record 852,587 seedlings planted on a single day in 27 districts, involving 256,289 people 2007: Over 4 million saplings were grown in 427 Isha nurseries and 44 partners nurseries and planted in Tamil Nadu. Goals To plant 114 million saplings. 85% of the trees will be planted in villages and 15% in schools and colleges To establish 4 large-scale nurseries, able to produce 1 million saplings of incomegenerating trees each.

14 Tennessee Tobacco Prevention And Control In 2007, TN allocated a total of approx. $11.6 million for tobacco prevention and control Between 2000 and 2006, TN received over 1 billion dollars from the Master Settlement Agreement (annual average of approx. $166.5 million). None of the money received has been specifically allocated for tobacco prevention and control programs For TN, the Center for Disease Control recommended an annual investment of $71.7 million in 2007, with a minimum of $51.8 million. With only $11.6 million allocated to tobacco prevention and control, TN only met 22% of the recommended minimum amount and received a grade of F from the American Lung Association

Value Delivered $271.40/clinic rate, $1,085.60/ER rates. Rate of Return: Spent $994,980. For every $1 donated the return was $3.52/clinic rate or $14.10/ER rates. VIM Staff = 4.0 FTEs
