The cost of a private Christian education may seem high, but there are many financial assistance opportunities that can make this education accessible to everyone. Jesus said that the man who hears and listens to His words, and puts them into practice, is like the wise man who built his house upon the rock (Matt. 7:24-25). Your education at Boise Bible College will set you on the foundation that is Jesus Christ. 4 This step is extremely important! You cannot be considered for any financial aid until you have completed the following application process. Juniors in high school can receive up to $4,000 by completing this process by June 30, following their junior year. See page 5 for more details.

5 2 We keep our tuition costs competitive. The college carries no debt at this time because of the donations of many individuals and churches. Our costs are about the same as state universities and considerably less than most other private colleges and universities. 6 3 Complete FAFSA for Federal Aid This is a vital step to complete as you prepare for college. BBC is an accredited college, recognized by the federal government as an approved institution of higher education. Our students are eligible for all Pell Grants and student loans provided by the government. To receive this valuable aid, you MUST complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on or after January 1 of every year you plan to attend BBC. Apply online using FAFSA on the web at Our Financial Aid Office will use that information to calculate and verify the student aid you could receive from the federal government. AID PROVIDED BY THE GOVERNMENT Pell Grant (up to $5,730 per year) This grant does not need to be repaid to the government. Direct Student Loans* (range from $5,500 to $7,500 per year) These loans do need to be repaid to the government. Repayment of these loans may be postponed until you complete your education. Please be aware that student loans must start to be paid back immediately after completion of schooling. The average college student graduates with $27,000 of student loans. That equates to about $280 a month for 10 years! Subsidized: Government pays accrued interest while in school. Unsubsidized: Governement does not pay accrued interest while in school. 7 4Comply with Scholarship Requirements Boise Bible College offers a number of scholarship opportunities to help you achieve your educational goals. It is important you are aware of deadlines and requirements. BBC SCHOLARSHIPS* Investment Scholarships ($500 - $1,500) Offered to individuals who attend conferences, camps, conventions, and college fairs where BBC is recruiting. Advantage Scholarships ($1,000 - $4,000) Offered to students who meet certain application deadlines (June 30 of Junior year, January 15, April 15, and July 15). Scholarship is divided equally over four years. Spouse of a Full-time Student (25% tuition discount) Available to spouses of full-time students enrolled at BBC. Renewable upon meeting criteria. Part-time Student Scholarships (50% tuition discount) Allows students to begin part-time by providing a discount on their first two classes. Minister Waiver (Free audit) Allows full-time and part-time ministers to audit one class per semester, free of charge. *Many BBC Scholarships are stackable, up to 100% Tuition More information available. 8 Comply with Scholarship Requirements continued4 ACADEMIC & MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIPS* President s Academic Scholarship ($1,500/Semester): Awarded to students who have achieved a CGPA of 3.75 or higher. Renewable and stackable with all other scholarships. Dean s Academic Scholarship ($1,000/Semester): Awarded to students who have achieved a CGPA of 3.5 to Renewable and stackable with other scholarships. Leadership Scholarship ($750/Semester): Awarded to students who have achieved a CGPA of 3.0 to Renewable and stackable with other scholarships. Ministry Department Scholarship (starts at $1,500/ Semester): Competitive scholarship awarded to new students who achieve a CGPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate ministry leadership in preaching, worship, inter-cultural studies, helping professions, or one of the fields of Christian Education. Renewable and escalating for four years upon meeting criteria. Separate application required by April 1st. Full-Time Christian Worker Scholarship ($760/ Semester): Awarded to full-time Christian workers and their dependents. Renewable upon meeting criteria. Music Performance Scholarship (Amount Varies): Annual audition required. Must meet minimum CGPA of 2.3 and be selected for BBC s music ensemble. Recipients must be available to travel. Institutional Pell Scholarship ($500/Semester): Awarded to students who do not qualify for a Federal Pell Grant and have a CGPA of 2.5. Renewable upon meeting criteria. Scholarship criteria may be based on academics or family background, church membership, hometown, employer, region, and more. Check with your school counselor, at your local library, or online to research all possible sources of funding. Deadline is April 1. Lightfoot Foundation ($500-4,000/Year) Available to Treasure Valley residents with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher and a family income of less than $70,000. 10 Part-Time Employment 6 Graduating with student debt can impact where you minister upon graduation. Too much debt may keep you from the mission field or a church that cannot pay a great wage. Finding a part-time job during your college years is critical to your college funding. The Boise area provides many opportunities for employment, including fast food outlets, retail stores, grocery stores, assisted living, child care and other businesses. Many are within walking distance of the campus. You can easily make $400 to $600 a month working part-time.
