2 Who Sat at Our Table Federation Staff University Representatives Not for Profit Lead Partner Agency Board Members From the ground up Stage 7: Implementation & Evaluation Stage 6: Explore Certification and Credentialing Stage 5: Develop curriculum and class structure Stage 4: Develop Learning Objectives Stage 3: Define capacities and skills of Resource Coordinators Stage 2: Invite and convene experts and stakeholders. Stage 1: Research feasibility and develop a plan Goal We will create a resource coordinator certification program (process) that supports the development of professional capacities in resource coordinators to serve as effective change agents in community school development. 2
3 Skills and Capacities Outcomes Thorough knowledge of CS model Communication Management Sustainability Program Development Professional skills and capacities Solicits leadership support Demonstrate mastery of skills and capacities Understand and integrate CS framework into daily tasks Implement strategies that forward CS and ensure sustainability Engage stakeholders as key champions Capacity to mentor new coordinators Proposed Certification Certification Structure Pre-certification process 12 month curriculum Convenes twice monthly, elements include: lecture, group discussion, activities, case study and interactive peer learning session. 4 Pre-Certification Requirements Apply to training cohort Obtain sign off from appropriate stakeholders Complete Community School Orientation training Pay or receive sponsorship for certification enrollment fee Signed participation agreement with attendance requirements included Panel Discussion How did the need for this RC Certification process show itself in Illinois? Who else has been involved and essential to the process? How do you fund a project like this? My state does not have a centralized team like the Federation for Community Schools, how would you suggest I begin?
